You ever get tired of being a miserable pussy?
I admit I don't follow LSU baseball as much as you do but I am a fan. EVERY thread dealing with baseball there is you bitching and complaining about something.
I seriously question if this win streak is actually making you upset.

The SEC is probably getting 6-7 hosts. Lsu is secure unless they lose out.

I never said the SEC Tournament was more important that this weekend. I questioned why you guys put SO MUCH importance on this weekend as far as out postseason outlook is.

Has never happened. I think 6 happens though.

In the sweep scenario, all that would take is 1 loss in the SECT.

Because a series win DOES lock us in as a host.

Neither has 4 national seeds but everyone is super sure that is happening this year.

If you agree with my comment, then doesn't that put the SEC tournament at a pretty high level of importance as well?

WE DONT NEED TO WIN THIS SERIES TO HOST A REGIONAL

Anyone super sure that the committee does anything to prop up the SEC is retarded.

only if we get swept, and even then we're not talking about anything that would lock us in. In fact, a sweep means we definitely WON'T host.

WE COULD WIN 1 GAME. WE WERE TALKING ABOUT SECURING A HOST.

Where did I say SEC? ACC is in contention for 4 as well.

So then you agree lol. Why can't you just say that? If UF sweeps us, are we a 100% lock. Probably not but still a very high chance of hosting. I'm happy with winning 1/3 this weekend.

Yes winning 1 game is important. Not winning the series. You guys acted like this SERIES was going to define the rest of our season and that is no where near accurate.

Can we please just be realistic here? We aren't hosting a super regional and we aren't sweeping Florida. We win 1 game the rest of the season and we host a regional. That game can be against Florida or in the SEC Tournament.

Editing due to your edit: So you are saying a 3 game series against the #1 team in the country could bring us from being near the top 8 and dropping to below 16th? Seriously? Our RPI will remain between 8-14 no matter what happens this weekend. We are fine.

True.

I honestly think it becomes a very LOW chance of hosting. If we get swept, the committee will see a the 7th best SEC team that only won half of their series and got swept at home last.

You're the one who said that no matter what happens this weekend, we're set... now you're changing it a little.

I can agree with all of that, but I really think it has to be a win vs florida for there to be a chance and a series win for a true lock.

What I find funny is that the committee wants to keep doing things to "grow the game nationally."

What they don't realize is that what they've done in the past has actually worked. College baseball is more popular among high school prospects in the Midwest and northeast. The issue is that those prospects are signing with teams in the SEC and ACC instead of the Big Ten.

Look at how many guys from the Chicago area are on Vandy, Louisville, and even LSU's roster. And guys from St Louis on Ole Miss and Arkansas' roster. And guys from the Northeast at Vandy and Florida.

College baseball is more attractive to top end prospects, but they still want to play in warm weather and in front of fans.

Had that discussion not long ago with hcb. The growing the game crap doesn't work in the way the NCAA wants it to work especially the way they are going about doing it.

Surely ESPN knew it was going to rain. Why didn't they agree or suggest an earlier start time. Appears to me they didn't give a shite about LSU etc

It's not working the way they want it to, at least not very quickly. Indiana, IMO, was the biggest threat to build a power in the Midwest. They had a great coach, upgraded their facilities, and they are building a decent fan base. But then their coach leaves for a traditional power.

Now, they've fared much better than their upstate brethren after we took Mainieri. NDs attendance has dropped by about 80% over the past decade.

Big Ten teams are spending more on baseball and a lot of schools are upgrading practice facilities and stadiums. But progress is coming very slow for them as far as building consistent winners. And the old guard of Midwest powers like Nebraska and Witchita St are falling down the ladder as more schools start taking baseball seriously.

Wait! What?! Are you saying Paul Mainieri built Notre Dame into a successful baseball program that feel apart after he left?

IMPOSSIBLE!

The baseball experts on this board keep telling us he doesn't know anything about baseball!
