We will be back in Omaha next year

EVen if we lose Dean and Shimpf to the draft. Too much talent returning plus the addition of ZVR and possibly Colvin and that Koenman(sp) kid. I can't see us not making it back to Omaha.

I think we have the talent to get back to Omaha. I don't see us winning it though...but who knows...lets just enjoy this one for a while.

We could start averaging a visit to Omaha every couple of years like the 90's.

Will Kimmey agrees...

Relax. Enjoy this one for awhile.

It all boils down to how the departing players shoes are filled

I think Dean will stay. One more year and he will be a high draft pick. If you watch the video of Paul M. that was on the rant earlier today, the talk between Paul and Blake sounded as if he was going to stay. They were talking about getting a dietitian to get Dean leaner and speader.

gonna have to be a full-time position player, IMO...

That is why they want to make him leaner and faster. I agree with you on a full-time position player.

He'd be a good fit at first IMO

Exactly my feelings also. I think he could have used him there a little this past year. With his height he could use to his advantage so that he could make the stretch. He will have to get real limber and do not know if is willing to go through what it will take for him to be a really good 1st baseman. JMHO

I think if Ross gets his control worked out over the summer he'll be fine. He won't be a Coleman by ANY means but even then not many people thought Coleman would ever be Coleman.

All we need to do is recruit two Jungman(sp?) equals. There's a hell of alot of great freshman pitchers out there. We need to get our share like Texas and we'll be fine.

That's it? Hell that's easy.
2.0 ERA in 94 IP with a sub .200 BAA and 101 Ks...easy as pie

If Dean leaves with Schimpf and Mitchell that's our 3 best hitters leaving, as well as Ochinko and LeMahieu who are up there. Obviously we have more than enough talent but I think you definitely have to wait and see how the young guys step up before booking our tickets, but we certainly have as good a shot as anyone.
