We need a new basketball arena

It's embarrassing seeing this dump on prime time ESPN. Compared to the top half arenas in the SEC, we are way behind. We need something a bit smaller and can hold noise as well. Something like Ole Miss' new arena would work. I think it holds just under 10k and gets loud.

We need an athletic department that knows how to get the crowd involved. We need a crowd that wants to get involved.

It starts by redesigning the stands unstead of being corporate sellouts for a program that likely loses money anyway. The current layout of the student section is an abomination and takes away from the experience for students.

I'm at the game. It's incredible how many "fans" are buried in their phones. Stay off your damn phones!!

THIS!! A new arena will not make fans go to games and stay for the long term. Internet service on everyone's phone. Almost every team can be seen fairly regularly televised or on their phones. Corporate takeovers in all stadiums and arenas. Live entertainment of all kinds has taken a very bad hit. Look at the NFL stadiums. Same issues there. Most televised games won't show 1/4 to 1/2 empty stadium shots. There's no magic resolution to this problem. The die hards will still go and spend money.
