Things like this happened to Saban's teams. These are young men who were probably lining up booty for later after the 3rd quarter than lining up tight ends. We got great pressure from our defense during those 3 quarters and you people really expect Crowton to open up all 75 plays for Shepard in one game. Last two quarters should of been tb dive right and left.
This team will shut people down when great team comes to town but we will have to watch out for UAB's of the world and hope that the young stay focused throughout the entire game week. Hey we also got 4 sacks that's an improvement to go drink too and the return game is a lot better now that we can actually return a punt more than the usual fair catch from last year.

Solid post. I agree.

I think we might finally have a dominant d-line again.

But it's a common theme under Miles. We rarely put together a complete 4 quarter game.

We should have easily put them away in the 2nd half and stick with what was working... not give up and let them back in the game.

If Miles can start putting together 4 quarters, LSU is a top 5 team easily. But, as history has shown, he has trouble playing complete games.

Of course they did, but Saban blew a gasket when they did.

The thing that really bugged me about Saturday was that LSU clearly didn't come out in the second half with the hunger, and IMO, that's coaching. Players are players for the most part, no matter what uniform they put on, but it's the responsibility of the coaches to find a way to get these guys to have their game faces on throughout the game, Miles, Saban, or insert coach here..... If and when they don't, I would like to see a coach act just a little pissed after the game, not give all the credit to the other team or look for the silver lining, but resolve in himself that this kind of half arsed second half BS will NOT happen again, and then make it so.

I realize that Miles is the kinder gentler coach, but if he lets these players run the team in the long run by letting them determine the tempo by what a bunch of teenagers feel or are thinking then it's not going to be pretty. I'd really like to see Les drill some more mental discipline in these guy's heads. The talent is unquestionable. It's the leadership that gives me pause.

So can anyone account for if Miles yelled after the game or did the assistants have to get in the arse of the players?
