Patterson took awful shots tonight. Quarterman had a bad turnover late in the game. Gray seemed to have more because he drove in the lane 3 times and got blocked, his one turnover wasn't awful either. His 3 point shot shifted the momentum when it was almost over.

Yep, JG had 1, TQ had 3 & JMi had 2 TOs.

TQ ended the game with 2 points, 2 rebounds, 3 fouls, & 3 turnovers. He was 1-6 from the field and 0-1 from the FT line. His man torched him all night (Booker had 14 pts). TQ did dish out 7 assists though.

Gray did not cost us this game and neither did TQ. But we win if Tim shows up at all.

He nor anyone deserves to be flamed for this game.

Not flaming, his selfish play threw me off I suppose, I though he had more turnovers, he did try to take the game into his hands a bit too much though.

I can agree with that. He did try to take over. Fair enough.

I'll count gray's horrific deep 3 point shot while we had the lead as a turnover...but yes he's probsbky receiving a little too much shite

Gray single handedly lost that game.

I'm assuming this is sarcasm. He was relatively quiet in this game, which is a huge improvement. The inbounds fiasco with a minute left wasn't his fault. The strategy was apparently for him to get the inbounds pass and drive to the basket and shoot over a 7-foot shotblocker. Why anyone thought this had a chance of working, I have no idea, but Gray was apparently just doing what the coaches told him to do. Blame Jones for that. He kept the turnovers down and, other than a couple of unwise drives into the lane and getting his shot blocked and maybe a couple of ill-advised 3-point attemps early in the shot clock when we needed to burn time and get a good shot, he really didn't hurt us that badly tonight. Patterson was much better overall than Gray has been, but took some really bad shots and wasted some possessions for us.

Overall tonight, you can't be anything but pleased with the effort of the team (they played better defense than they have all season, IMO), but as usual, the players got no help whatsoever from the coaching staff.

technically yes

but, with the game on the line and lsu up and the ball with about 3 minutes left....he decides to jack up a very quick 25 footer.....and then again, with the shot clock running down, he decides to hold the ball then take it right to a 7 footer.....essentially 2 turnovers, though technically not. I can't understand why he was on the court at the end. Everytime he gets the ball I cringe...he just always looks out of control

When he entered game we were down 13 ...........he gave good effort. And valuable minutes tonite. I'll say it again... He is the Only Player we have that can beat his man off dribble and get in the lane. Now what he does with the ball then is a crap shoot. But you have to get in the lane to play this game....

We didn't really do much different down the stretch than we usually do. We just notice it more down the stretch. The truth is this team has no offensive strategy. Literally none. The whole offense is based on standing around and waiting for someone to do something (either drive to the basket or throw up a 18-20 footer), then maybe get an offensive rebound. That's it. That's the whole strategy. It doesn't work very often, but it has the virtue of not taking a long time, so we keep a good pace, get some points in transition and score points anyway. But in any situation when every possession counts, its failure is exposed.

There's not a junior high school team in the country that doesn't have at least one offensive set that they run when they need to get a good shot on a possession. There's not a junior high school team in the country that doesn't have at least one inbounds play that is designed to spring someone for a decent shot. But there's a college team that doesn't have either. Unfortunately, it's LSU.

THIS X 1,000!!! Take Kentucky off of the jersey & haven't we seen this same exact game play out before?!? No matter WHO we play it is always gonna a 5 point game down the stretch and if our players aren't hitting buckets, we can never seem to get an easy bucket out of a time-out/set play.

gtfo dude. I'm calling it like it is. He wasn't horrible, and he isn't the sole reason LSU lost the game. However, with 3 minutes left and a 3 point lead....WORK THE DAMN CLOCK and get a good shot...don't jack up a long three with 30 seconds left on the shot clock.......then drive right at a 7 footer and force a bad shot a little while later. He tried to be a hero, when it was not needed. A smart team, a well coached team, wins that game. LSU is 0 for 2.

Apparently, LSU can't run a set play.
