Haeger pitched 6.2 innings in the series and gave up 7 EARNED runs. They can score against her.

She rolled through last year's WCWS. This time of year, she becomes a different animal.

It's all part of the process of moving up to the next level. We were thought to be a year away from WCWS. Instead we made a move this year. Fla is defending champ and knows what it takes to win there. We are super young- especially at pitcher. Gaining valuable experience for the future.

Day 2 loser out the winners bracket flips to the other bracket.

Are you sure about that? I know they had a senior "ace" last year that they depended on a lot.

Yep, it was Hannah Rogers.

You're right. They did go Haeger in game two of the championship series, but Rogers was their ace. Their pitching has been unfair for so long.

Interesting that the 1-0 game losers get flipped to the other side of the bracket. The Michigan-UCLA loser will play the Tennessee-Auburn winner. Winners there go on to play Florida.

If we beat the Bama-Oregon winner, we would play the 2-0 Michigan-UCLA winner.

I admitted I was wrong. I remembered her from last year's series, but she started game two. I do remember Rogers.

Settle down. Florida has made it a habit to be good in OKC. No shame in losing to them.

Michigan hasn't lost since mid April. Even though they're down early, they're no joke.

I mean, it's not like I'm printing the shirts already.

With that said, Florida is the last team you want to face in the tournament. I think LSU would respond well facing someone new, because we all knew Florida wanted to prove a point after losing only one series all season

I wouldn't be excited though about the thought of playing Michigan.

Just because I'd rather face Michigan, it doesn't mean I don't respect Michigan. Plus UCLA is sitting pretty right now anyways

It actually wasn't until after the LSU/Florida series where Haeger really stepped it up and basically started and won every Friday game in the SEC. Florida was starting their two younger pitchers against the Michigan's and Oregon's to get them tested.

LSU is a great team with great pitching, speed and power hitting; could give Oregon/Alabama/Michigan some trouble.

Well they've surely learned how to stand on the plate and lean in to get a free pass. That really cheapens the game when you prefer a HBP over EARNING a hit.

That's been their strategy since Walton's been there. Beth was well aware of it. They tried it in Gainesville too.

Very true. Lead the nation in it and I don't care for the strategy. That said, what beat us yesterday was their power. That and their pitcher basically locked us down as the game progressed.
