He seems to struggle with the 3 step drop and fire still. 5 step drop he does well and overall I've been impressed with Danny. But we need that short quick throw big time against defenses like Msu Bama etc. Myles made it look effortless when he came in and completed that quick slant or whatever. Like the quick "pop" pass To Moreau last week that's what we need consistently from Danny next week. Can't freakin wait and it's Sunday !! Already pumped!

The three step stuff just wasn't there and there are no check downs to hit on quick passes. I'd rather him take off or get rid of the ball than force it when there's nothing there. His passer rating is almost 200 you could take our last few QBs 2 best games of their careers and they wouldn't be as good as Etlings first 2 this seaon as far as accuracy and efficiency goes.

One thing I noticed about Myles last Saturday when he was running for his life, is he is quite a bit slower than Etling. So I hope coach O takes that into account when recruiting offensive lineman. It could also possibly open the door for Narcisse who coach O says has a stronger arm than Myles. As the coaching staff is obviously holding him back so his knees will get stronger. They are also recruiting a couple of dual threats as well.

Safeties in the box limit your options on 3 step drops. He didn't struggle at all, he just made the right reads. Why force a ball when you have a clearing to gain a few yards on the ground?

No he doesn't. Go back and watch the BYU game and see how much he struggled. He actually does really well with quick slants and swings. His timing is good and he's almost always on target (when he isn't being rushed) inside 10 yards.

I'm not sure what you're watching to give you this opinion, but it's off base. Danny will be just fine.

Also, MB followed that fantastic slant with three incomplete passes.

"That quick slant"

Right, that was his only completion.

They are confusing the BYU pass with his Chat game play...the quick slant was the BYU game....he did misfire on quite a few passes for the chat game...

Danny Etling is okay as QB'ing goes, he manages the game and doesn't make serious mistakes that can hurt the team. His throwing is what it is and he makes the throws that he can make because he's limited in what he can do, but with that said it will be fun to watch Brennan when he takes over. That kid can throw and is sure of himself even at that young of an age, he can make all the throws. He fires the ball in there with no wasted motion and that's what a good QB does, honestly, I think he's capable of starting right now.

And very, very few bad passes to this point as it is - what dips in efficiency he's had has been heavily weighed by drops and his own smart throwaways.
