Was there a single game, post 1995, you think brought LSU "back"?

For six and a half days, Florida 1997.

This thread is played out....
The answer is either Florida 97', Tennessee 00' or Georgia 03

well, some could argue for FLA '97 but we weren't consistently winning games again until the 00's with Saban and then with Miles, so either the 2000 Tennessee OT thriller or the 2001 SEC Championship Game against Tennessee. Bother were great games.
my official vote is the '01 SECCG vs. the Vols

2001 SECCG
I know 2002 season was mediocre but LSU likely wins the west again if Matt Mauck doesn't get hurt against Florida in 2002.

Florida 1997 is the only answer.

So true. I remember the high I felt that night and that next week. Then the following Saturday I was playing football on the Superdome carpet when I kept seeing the LSU-Ole Miss score and it ruined my day.

This game, to me, was the watershed moment for LSU football in the 2000s. That game was the telltale game to determine whether LSU was to be considered one of the "elites" of CFB. LSU answered the bell and the rest of the season (sans UF) solidified that.

Florida 97 made it cool for a local prospect to go to LSU. That game started the fence around the state.

Brought us 'back' would be the 2000 TN game. Davey throwing darts on one bed leg.
I was at the 97 Florida game and I while it was arguably the biggest win in school history, the next 2 years were abysmal letdowns so I don't know if it started a positive trend.

Lsu/ole miss 2001. This is the game that made saban realize that he could not continue to be ultra conservative and hold back jimbo's play calling. The result was lsu's best offense in school history, an sec championship and a top 10 ranking to finish the year.
