Look, I absolutely abhor LSU's offensive philosophy and I think if Miles went up 14-0 against ND tonight he would have gone for the toss dive on offense to let defense win a the game. I look back, however, at the execution of the players on the field and see many bad ones like overthrowing the wide open receivers, dropping too many balls, dropping too many easy interceptions, and personal fouls at critical times in the game. To me good players make less of these mistakes, maybe LSU was not as talented as we thought.

talent =/= execution

Alabama is no more talented than us. They execute because Saban demands perfect execution.

Mett wasn't as ready as anyone thought, and the whole season was played in a fog leftover from 1-9.

Against UW, USCe, and Alabama we saw what this team was really capable of, and with that level of focus and intensity, they really did look like one of if not the best team in the country.

We're just as talented as they are every year, and that will not change

Switch coaches and we're them. That's really what it comes down to.

That is what I mean. If you don't execute what does it mean to be talented. If you don't make plays you are not talented or you are talented in theory (meaning you think you are talented).

I'm pretty sure that the ability to execute takes talent.

Completely agree... We just had 9 underclassmen declare for the draft, talent is not the issue

No.

However, we trust the coaches to coach the talent to use that talent effectively and execute accordingly, particularly on offense, in our case.

That hasn't happened. We seem to be using the same option plays JJ ran, even though Mett is running in water, he overthrows way too much, when he does throw.

Now the injuries we had this year had something to do with that, to be sure, however, there was little, if any, adjustments in play calling.

Run a lot, pass a little bit. Same stuff we've been seeing for 5 years now.

Studrawa is over his head as the OC. Get a proven OC.

When the strength coach is the one that makes the wrs catch balls off the juggs machine to improve their hands I tend to believe its all about terrible coaching.

Guy that's not on talent, and when you have that many problems, it's on coaching and Miles isn't the only coach. Why did the WRs drop so many balls compared to last year? Why so many undisciplined penalties? Why so many overthrown players, and no awareness of cornerback blitzes. Why so many poor angles on tackles. Face it, the coaching staff didn't have these guys prepared and that cost us.

But you say Chavis is a good coach and defense lost the game vs Alabama and almost vs SC. You can't have it both ways.
