Watching replay on ESPNU, just blew opportunity to knock Saban out with that stupid Ware Cat call. All offensive momentum was lost with Ware under center.

that's not the Warecat, that's the short yardage/ QB sneak look. it has another name that escapes me now.

and it's idiotic to run that play out of it in that situation IMO.

Terrible play call. If we would have run a normal running play we would have gotten the first.

It could have worked had Ware taken the ball out of the shotgun. From under center, he couldn't get the momentum which usually brings him a lot of success.

Back in the hat. Now that Metts is feared, the warecat should be done.

I do not think it was so much Ware running the ball as much as the play was rushed. Miles took a long time to have Mett taken out of the game to make that call.

Still if you want Ware to run the ball just do it in a normal handoff fashion. No need to telegraph the play like that.

i havent watched the replay, and only saw it in the stadium. that said, i seem to recall that the rubber marker on the ground made it appear we were a lot closer to 4th and inches than 4th and one. they even brought the chain gang out to measure and it was well short, to the point that measuring seemed pointless.

can anyone confirm my recollection, or was it just too many beers for me?

One yard away from a possible championship.

dude, you don't know football. If someone takes the snap besides the QB it's a wildcat, if you hand off from the shotgun it's a zone read, and if you pitch to the running back it's an option play. Read the Rant and learn football!!!

This game had a lot of stupid calls. Who calls them? However, play action to Jarvis was beautiful play call. I called that play when they lined up in formation.

That was a LONG 4th and 1. I think Miles thought it was shorter than it was. I liked going for it but Hill is your best bet there.

can confirm...not sure why they measured, wasn't even close. Although the coaches and officials don't have the magic yellow line.

Now a great play call would have been to rush the Ware-sneak onto the field and do a hard count to draw the D offsides...

Yup. I was glad we went for it. We had all the momentum in the world. Shoving it down their throats.

I just would have rather us put Hill in the I-formation and run behind Turner and Vadal the way we did on the Goal Line. I have a hard time believing Alabama would have stopped us there. Especially at that point in the game with the crowd going nuts chanting "Go! Go! Go! Go!"

hellz yeah. Hill's jump-dives are 2 yds easy.

seriously, run a real freakin wildcat. let Ware or Hill take the snap, and use Shep or Ford as the sweep man. passing threat be damned. used to work for Bama with Mark Ingram.

The Ware sneak needs to be thrown out. Defenses know exactly what's coming. That formation should only be used to run something tricky out of.. like the fake sneak toss to Ford.

South Carolina (goaline false start.. but the play happened and Ware was stuffed) and now Alabama have stopped Ware cold on that play.
