I think he was already thought to be a potential late first rounder, but hadn't seen him this high before. Basically have him as the 2nd pure CB being taken, behind VH3. Their list is shuffled on a weekly basis and there's a long way to go, but seems like he's been moving up.

Last I saw Kiper had him as #3 cb, so this seems to be pretty in line with that

White has locked down his side of the field all season, and did most of last season as well. He doesn't put up flashy numbers, but that's because opponents don't even look his way.

Two years ago I said Robinson was and would be better than White. I'm happy to admit I was dead wrong on that one. White is a baller.

Robinson was better. Couldn't follow rules...

That's debatable.

Toliver is better than all 3 at this stage in their careers....a majority of our passing yards have come from the slot position on safeties and lb

Robinson was better for exactly 1 game. Go back and watch the Auburn and Florida games from last year. He was constantly out of position and gave up huge plays. Hell, one of the worst qb's to play at Florida picked on him

White was good his fresh year as well. I wouldn't put toliver over him yet that's for sure.

White is the "stickiest" CB I've seen in a long time at LSU. That includes Claiborne and PP.

He doesn't have insane measurables or stats like those guys, but he sticks with his man like a fricking shadow. His big downfall is the overly physical/large receiver can just overpower/outsize him (see: De'Runya Wilson).

Great hips, lightning quick feet in the back peddle, etc. He will have a long pro career as a #2 CB IMO. He won't be put on the Julios or Calvins, but he'll be an asset in the slot or on smaller guys. I can't remember him ever losing his receiver in a route.

Ehhh its close. Toliver has a higher ceiling with his size and everything, but White was damn good as a frosh too.

Isn't Rashard Robinson the guy that essentially helped Brandon Harris take the starting quarterback job via the transitive property thanks to his offseason hijinks?

No, he wasn't. As I said at the time most fans, not being very knowledgeable, put too much emphasis on man coverage. It's important, but properly playing zone is even more important.

Robinson was always sloppy in zone. White is superlative. He has great quickness to close on receivers. Also, White is just as good in man; it's just that White tends to do better on quick receivers, and Robinson on big physical receivers.

White was always better, and every keen observer knew it.

BTW, Like I said about Mo before he was drafted, no team should take White in the top 10. He's a worthy late first round pick, but he's not a game changer in the NFL. I'd guess between picks 20 and 30

Robinson had 1 game where he was really good and it came vs TAMU and Mike Evans. Besides that game, he was nothing special and got beat a good bit. Sure, he had a higher ceiling, but besides the TAMU he was never better than White.

White is a true eraser out there. He's a diff type of CB than we are used to seeing here. Typically we are used to those playmaking DBs like PP, Mo, TM, etc. White isn't as much a playmaker as those guys, but he's as good a cover CB as any of them. QBs don't really look his way anymore and are respecting him.

The thing that impresses me the most about Whitr is the mental aspect of the game. The guy never makes a mental mistake or gets burned. He's always in good position out there. Sure, his guy might make a good play and catch the ball, but White is always there with them battling it out. And I can't remember when he's made a mental mistake and had a busted coverage. He's always in good position.

Kids great and doesn't get the respect he deserves from us and the media. Hell of a player. Not sure about a top 10 pick because he doesn't have elite potential, but he will translate very well to the NFL and will be a damn good CB for a long time in the league. Def worth a top 20 pick for sure.
