News: Paul says it's highly unlikely Eric Walker will pitch again in CWS

Will see doctor and get MRI once #LSU gets back to BR

Huge bummer. Felt like a gut punch when he motioned to the dugout. This is the right move, though. He has a lot ahead of him.

He'll be ready to go in 2018. Just bad luck/timing for him.

The timing of this injury could not have possibly been any worse.

Why not get an MRI today?

If he isn't going to pitch again it doesn't matter.

Insurance perhaps. It wouldn't matter to his pitching this week anyway.

I tried to say this in the other thread when someone said it was a "soft tissue" thing and not to worry. Forearm "soreness" can mean he was feeling tightening in the inside of his forearm which could signify weakening ligaments and the muscles "pull" more than comfortable.

Basically, he likely has a partial UCL tear.

seems to me all good pitchers sooner or later have injuries and ultimately surgery. When it happens varies from guy to guy, not a matter of if but when it happens. Logic says it does not happen when you are not pitching.

Seems to me this is normal attrition. Tell me if I got it wrong.

Why not say he is not going to pitch and not it's unlikely he will pitch then?

Yeah, it stinks, but consider what would have been had he gotten injured early in the season. If that had happened then LSU likely doesn't get win the SEC or make it to Omaha.

This sucks but it's the right call. I really can't see us beating OSU twice without Walker but we shall see

what does this mean? I mean, how long will he be shut down, will he need surgery, etc, etc?

Wait, you actually think this guy knows what he's talking about? Is he the rant physician?

Well he has had a torn UCL so he might be able to shed a bit of light on the subject. However, you're right that GrandDad's question can only be answered after the MRI.

Not saying you are wrong, but you are being a little presumptuous
