The most expensive seat is $75...not north of $75. There are plenty of $40 seats...dinner cost more than $40. Your bag of weed cost more than $75

This isn't a price issue at all.

Yes. It is. You know how they get butts in the seats for crappy rent-a-wins? The tickets are cheap and families can go for under $300.

short notice + relatively high prices + mediocre opponent + balls arse hot weather = little motivation for anyone outside of diehards to go.

Not many are breaking plans for regular priced $75 dollar tickets. You drop it to $30, you may get some more takers.

subsidized tickets. That's why they can be that cheap.

Why does everyone keep saying tickets are $75....there are tons of $40 tickets.

You think it would more than double the attendance? Because that's what those price differences suggest.

Total Revenue is what is important here, not butts in the seats. The more people in the stadium, the tougher for USC to win. If they can collect the same total revenue with 40,000 fans as they could with 80,000, it benefits them to do it with 40,000.

The $40 are uppers, correct? Who the hell wants to roast up there far away from the action for $200 for a family of 4 (with fees)?

Again, people aren't breaking plans or going out of their way for something that's not a below average ticket price. There's little draw to this game.

If the season ticket holders aren't buying then the regular fans surely won't.

Reasons I haven't bought a ticket:

1. I'm not in BR right now and cannot get to the ticket office.

2. I don't have a printer. I'm not paying an extra $20 for will call.

3. Maybe I'd drive to BR on Friday and buy a ticket if LSU would refund me my McNeese tickets.

I know people in my season ticket section who aren't going because of the heat. I kept hearing "no more day games" as the reason these people were not going.

The fee for the entire order is $1.50

And anyone with a brain can see that you could just buy the $40 seats and go sit in the south ez without encroaching on anyone else.

Correct. On this short notice there needed to be a real incentive to get people to change their plans.

Right or wrong, most people expect this game to be an easy win and figure they can watch on TV and will see the Tigers next week against Florida.

$40 $20 $10 might have pushed attendance close to 70K. Likely end up in low 40's for actual butts in seats.

Was never going to be 90K+ like some hoped simply due to the short notice.

Very true. The folks who made these decisions aren't total idiots. I suspect they analyzed it quite closely and it is playing out very close to what they expected from both a revenue and attendance standpoint.

A lot of season ticket holders live out of state and in North Louisiana. Some people work weekends and arrange their work schedules around the football schedule. This is an unplanned game in Tiger Stadium and I can see why it's not going to be a big crowd.

I wonder how many Cocks fans will be making the trip considering they're dealing with flooding and property loss/damage.

It's too bad the game couldn't have taken place closer to Columbia for the Cocks fans to be able to attend.
