Watched some of the game on one hour football. It seems like the Tide are a bit slow moving sideline to sideline on some plays. I could see us having success off-tackle and on a few sweeps especially in the second half...

Bama has always been suspect on the edges.

LF& is scary off tackle

Our guards pull really well, and having JDM back will help too.

they may pull 9 in the box, but it doesn't matter when we pull to one side. we still get good matchup of blockers to defenders

I really hope to see a bunch of 3 and 4 WR formations

and then run out of them

Fournette will eat Bama's lunch running off of left tackle and getting separation from chasing linebackers.

Bama has always been slow sideline to sideline with their LB'S and that's why they struggle with the likes of Ole Miss and Auburn even when their defenses were dominant.

I think Guise can be lethal in this game because he can beat Bama LB'S on the edge every play if he can get past the line. Fournette will try to run thru a few of would be tacklers but Guise will just run away from them.

I like Fournette to be effective with his counter left runs and his left tackle runs but I think Guise could have a field day all over the field. I think running the draw screen with Guise in the middle and a few "screen" plays will kill Bama on because it will force Bama to start going nickel to get more speed on the field. In turn, that sets up nicely for Fournette to run over the nickel DB or for the run game to impose its will on that package.

Wouldn't mind trying to get Tyron Johnson involved in the sweep game and see if he can force Bama to watch for it when Fournette gets the ball up the middle, as well.

Hopefully Cam is allowed to call a few plays that's speed related to attack the linebackers and force them to chase on the edges. That's why I think Guice gets over 10 carries in this game. I don't think Williams can be effective because he plays right into Bama's strength of stopping the inside run when they know it's likely coming from a personnel standpoint.

Guice is the X-factor in this game because I don't see Bama being able to account for his speed and agility without going to a nickel package when he is in. Once he gets a few decent plays in, then Harris can go over the top to Dupre on a play that looks like Guice is running a wheel route, screen play, etc.

I think we can stretch and pressure them with the right game plan for sure...

True, it's very hard to be both big and fast.

I'm not being facetious when I say this, but the traditional under center option play (to the wide side of course) worries me.

We know it's in the playbook, but we haven't seen a lot (if any?) of it this year. We flow fine on defense when the ball is just handed off and ran off tackle, when an option is involved we can get caught up in the trash--be it a traditional option or a handoff on the jet sweep with the QB power option

Fournette bounces off tackle runs outside all the time, and Bama will see plenty of that. He'll break one of these.

I look for a couple of jet sweeps followed by that fake sweep/opposite pitch to Fournette. He'll break one of these.

Of course this is ALL obvious to our coaches and all of the rant experts - just some of my observations of plays that will be deadly against the gumps.

Fact is that we have plenty of designed plays that will give Bama fits. Trickeration shouldn't even have to be used, although we'll probably see some.

I had thought about Guice being used in this game for awhile now, I do think we'll need him to help. I'd love to see Guice used as the player on the jet sweep just because outside of Fournette he has the best combination of speed/running ability on the team and it would really force Bama to think about backside contain. They leave Guice open on a jet sweep and he'd do a lot of damage. They have run Guice as the jet sweep option at least once this year so it's possible they could use him in that capacity. Getting Guice and LF7 on the field together makes assignment football 10x tougher.

I also think Braden Harris will get more opportunities to make Bama pay with his legs in this game as well.

LF7 has most of his yards off of the left tackle.. That's where he breaks most of his long runs..

As long as he goes up the field and not dance in the backfield.

He is a gamer, and I don't think the stage will be too big.

Love the idea of dural or Johnson in motion to the left with Fournette as a single back.

Snap the ball, with Harris under center, quick turn and either hand it to dural on the sweep to the left or flip it out to Fournette to the right.

The linebackers will at least freeze trying to figure out where the ball is and that's all Fournette needs is that extra step to make a 5 yard gain into a 20+ yard gain.

Guice gets 70 solid yards on running plays and 50 yards in the passing game against Bama... He WILL have an impact if we win.

Fournette obviously is the catalyst but Guice is the man that possibly force Saban to adjust his defensive play calling not knowing how he will be used from play to play. I said it here 1st, Guice will be the back in when Harris burns Bama over the top for a score to Dupre or Dural.

I'd like to see Guice start, wear their front 7 down, then let LF7 smoke those fools.
