It seems that CLM was out to win Buga a Heisman over doing what was necessary to win the game. He should have used 7 as a decoy and thrown quick passes until we got Bama out of their game plan. Instead we played right into their strengths, while they did not. It was painfully obvious.

LSU fans should get very comfortable with the fact that we will win about 10 games a year, continue to turn out NFL players and produce great human beings because our head coach is a great guy, but that is it.

The only way we get back to the SEC championship or NC is buy having other teams assist us along the way.

We recruit better than 98% of the teams in the country. Because of this alone, we have a better and deeper roster and physically beat most teams into submission over the course of 4 quarters.

However, for teams that out recruit us, Bama being one of them, our vanilla play calling, lack of imagination and determination to simply do what has won us the other games will forever be our crutch.

We had 3 series in which to equalize the playing field, get there D to stay on the field and keep their O off the field. We failed horribly.

During our NC trip under CLM, we were very lucky to get in and it was only because we were fortunately matched up against another team that at that time didn't have the talent that we had. Voila, we were successful.

We could very well get back this year if another team that recruits very well beats Bama with some great play calling, but we will have back-doored the system into the SECCG and playoffs.

In this case, playing against a Florida, Baylor, OKST or Iowa we would probably win (talent disparity). But, if we pull a OSU, Clemson or ND opponent, we would probably end up on the bad side of a loss due to our play calling.

Realistically, we still have 4 games ahead of us against opponents that recruit very well and have some imaginative play calling. We had better take care of business and come up with some better offensive plans.
