1. Sentiment favors Gamecocks. Injustice of Traveling for "Home game," Suffering of State in midst of tragedy makes for a compelling storyline. Perhaps even empathy from Tigers who've been there. Subconsciously or otherwise, LSU might not bring the intensity needed here.

2. Underperforming SEC East team due for surprising performance when none expected. True Freshman QB Nunez coming off of poor performance with little pressure this week.

3. Classic "look Ahead" game. With Next weeks opponent Florida yery impressive thus far, How focused will Tigers be on the disappointing yet dangerous Gamecocks?

4. LSU soaking in the love from national media, LF hype over the top just enough to cause letdown.

5. Proof is in the Syracuse & Eastern Michigan pudding. How Did the Tigers perform against overwhelming underdogs the past two weeks?

In short, Is there anything to suggest that the Bayou Bengals will meet expectations this week.?

Nunez is nicked and may not play.

Normally I would agree. But I feel like any other player not named LF has been catching crap from the media for not playing a complete game or relying on the shoulders of LF.

I know the last two games wouldn't suggest a good game, but I actually predict the opposite. I think the second quarter is the money quarter. Either a big pass play of big defensive play. I predict a 31-13 stat line. USCe's offensive is equivalent to ours last year but they have no stable of backs. I watched them vs. Mizzou. It's bad boys.

And just to throw a devil's advocate, many of the South Carolina players "could" be more focused on home with their disaster. Not saying it's true. Just a possibility. Hard to concentrate when your state is underwater.

This may sound callous but this reasoning didn't affect the Va Tech game

had it been on the road maybe..

had LSU not been uninspired this past week.. maybe..

had USC had more time to practice.. maybe..

i was concerned with this game when it was an early game and on the road.. but south carolina is in trouble..

to answer your #5 question.. LSU never once trailed in either game.. and still had control.. LSU was about to put up 50+ points on E.M.. but took a knee.. that's pretty legit considering LSU was sleep walking during that game..

how about look back to see how LSU has played in SEC games.. especially at home.. we should be fine..

I don't really see SC playing much inspirational football on the road.. and LSU knows they weren't focused last week. They have said they recognize this and are taking prep more seriously.

exactly, look back at 2005. LSU had a close game against ASU, and lost to Tenn. USCe is in trouble.

I agree. Although my major concern was penalties on the road, we still can't get away with a lackluster performance.

Agred. This is a dangerous game for all those reasons. I doubt LSU wins convincingly, but anything can happen.

have you actually watched LSU play? Everyone thought EMU and Syracuse we're going to be blow outs. These two teams were playing badly coming into our games and LSU made them look pretty good. . I'm telling ya anything can happen. USC just hasn't played well but they do have talent that exceeds Syracuse and EMU.

Penalties kept Syracuse in that game otherwise it would have been a blow out and the EMU game LSU was already playing the back ups in the first quarter giving them heavy playing time...

If not for the 3 PI's called on EMU and the several dropped passes BH would have had 200 yards in passing...

The EMU game was basically a scrimmage for the reserves on defense...

I would be shocked if LSU takes USCe lightly...Miles has been here before on the other side of the coin and will have LSU ready for this game...

I agree with you. Almost posted a similar thread. This has everything built for an upset. I feel like when the fans take an opponent lightly, the team does too....hence EMU and Cuse. (There are MANY others from years passed, but I'm saying for this season)

Not to mention how sloppy we have been. Sloppiness could lead to an upset against a team like USC

6. Miles is not going to pour on the points on South Carolina after the week they've had. I see a 10 point LSU victory, but not 19 or more that the point spread suggests. If we are up two scores in the third quarter, expect to see nothing but ground and pound from our fearless, often resurfacing and quirky leader.

1. Criticism on the WRs will season practice up just a bit...
2. After watching Florida play last week, I think they KNOW they have to get up for this one and every other one this year.
3. They dropped in the power rankings after two lackluster performances.
4. The media only noticing one person on the team (and he deserves it)
5. MAYBE, just maybe, LF7's work ethic and attitude is contagious.

I think they FINALLY stand up to a struggling opponent and show their stuff!

Maybe we should just forfeit the game now and just party in the stadium
