He wasn't drafted.

He's too good for MLB is the rumor.

That's crazy. It's amazing what happens in these drafts. How does a guy like Stallings get drafted and not Newman? I know stallings has a fastball but he has had one good outing since the end of his first year.

It all comes down to potential and stallings 95+ mph fastball means he has potential.

Does Newman's sub 1 era not mean he has potential ?

Don't get me wrong, Newman was my favorite pitcher this year but he didn't have a sub 1 era. It was around 2.15 I believe

I think Parker Bugg is gone. He was very emotional after the game and was hugging what I assumed was his Mom right next to us. The way they were both acting is that he had played his last college game.

i'm really sorry to hear this. I think he's got the stuff to be one of the best reliever's we've ever had. I truly believe we're gonna hear from him in the bigs.

he also has a change up and curve ball. good one's. all he needs is more coaching and more work. he's got a huge upside. it appeared that dunn worked with him a lot after his first year but he just didn't get enough playing time to "iron everything out".

the kid is a thrower and needs to learn how to be a pitcher. the minor leagues will fix that or he's out.

Newman is very good, I still don't understand why he wasn't drafted, but there is no questioning who has the higher potential between the 2.

Figured Stallings would leave...sad to see it as a Tiger fan, but happy for him...
Imagine Newman will be back by his post game interview...Feel Freeman will be back, Poche is a possibility, too...

Pending an update on the Padres signings thus far, Poche is still a huge threat to leave. They're about $1.9MM under slot and they've signed about half of their top 10 round guys. So there is an opportunity to save more that can be spread around the 11-40 guys.
