Will it work, converting a WR to FB?
It appears that he has gone up in weight, around 230.

We'll see. If we're going to throw to FBs, why not get one with hands.

Upchurch was always more of a TE/HB hybrid than a true WR

Upchurch played a little RB in high school. Ran for like 400 yards and 6 TDs his senior year in a power back role. If he can learn to be a good lead blocker, he could be a versatile threat from the FB position, which is pretty rare.

He was 230lbs out of high school.
And he's a H-Back hybrid type of player. Can play fullback, split out wide, slot, TE, etc.

Was actually hoping he would get a look at LB

Seems like we are having a little truoble getting guys to commit to this position.... And if it keeps up why not go to a one back look/set?? We have the big backs to do it and plenty of WRs and TEs. I mean I really do like the FB position and think it can be lethal with the right guy but it's just getting harder and harder to recruit that type of guy and they commit to it. Just seems like we could have just as much success without the FB so why try and force it. If we find that guy one year fine use him but if not I don't think we need it.

The fact we still use a fullback 80% of the time is extremely troubling
