I hate to say it but we have a trainwreck of an offense with some pretty great skill players..Mettenberger is a talented qb with a rifle of an arm, he just needs a good bit of work..Hill is going to be one of the best backs in the SEC next year..Our receiving corps, led by Jarvis Landry, will be young but very talented..and on paper, our o-line looks like the pittsburgh steelers

We can hang with every team in the country with our defense, but the offense deserves much better than this. I can't see us getting back to the NC anytime soon. This year was our best shot and we were already crippled from losing players early in the year

Unless something changes, i fully expect another 3/4 loss season next year...Still will be rooting like hell for us though

I wonder how crippled LSU will be after the mass exodus of 2013? And our best shot was fired on 1/9/12. It came up blank. 2012 was a preview of what is to come. Saban owns the football world now. Alabama's big investment has paid off big time.

Unless some fundamental changes take place in how Les Miles chooses to coach and staff this team and prepare our talented recruits for winning championships, the sun will be setting on the brightest LSU future. And the media will see to it that we fall back into our customary place, a good team, able to win the occasional big game, but in fact just behind the real elites.

He's just repeating the supposedly inside info that another poster here has previously posted. It may be true, but I doubt they know for sure.

A new OC wont help unless Les lets them control the offense.

new OC will = same results, the problem is Miles wont let the OC do his job and keep his nose out of it.

Think about the fact that we have had different OC's over the years but for the most part the offense looks the same. (ranked somewhere between 80 and 100)

I offer as proof that Miles lets the DC do just that and the deffense for the most part looks like the know what they are doing. (over the years the D is ranked between 10 and 25)

If he's still stubborn about wanting to do it(the offense) his way after all these games then nothing will change his mind

Respectfully gotta disagree. When JL was running the team in 2011, LSU had no particular red zone blues and was scoring at a very respectable rate. Honestly, it was only at and after the first Bama game that LSU really started sputtering on offense and that may have had to do with more tinkering by CLM and the reinsertion of JJ into the starting role. This year under Mett, we saw potential, and flashes of brilliance, but also a persistent problem scoring TDs and a worsening inability to sustain drives. BTW, I don't blame Mett for that - I think it was and always has been totally our offensive play calling. That could be fixed, but under Les Miles, we have no assurances it will be fixed.

With what we have seen over so many years, what makes you think he would change now.

We can hope, but i dont see it.

We've heard this before, but nothing has changed. We will never know if Kragthorpe hadn't been diagnosed immediately after his selection as OC if things would have been different. Stud isn't even good a good position coach, idk why anyone would think he could be a competent OC. The only positive about Ware and Ford heading to the League is everyone down to the 6 year old fans will have a little more trouble knowing exactly what we are running when they were in the game.
