If only there were someone special enough out there to revitalize that program.

I know someone they can come and get. I'll even help pack.

If LSU will get rid of Johnny by the end of this week, he will have plenty of time to apply for his old job and return to Denton, TX.

Could we arrange a soft landing like this??
We would owe him $800k over the next 2 years. Plus what unt pays him, wouldn't be so bad and maybe we can arrange this so that we don't have to fire him

A DFW school bailed us out of our last crappy basketball coach. Just saying.

I think you're on to something

He's the best coach in their history and he's still young enough to rebuild there. They should be interested.

I think there is no doubt they would want him back. The question is would he go back? It would take a little bit of swallowing some pride, but he could have succes there again. UNT may not be his dream job, but it may be the best place for all involved.

I think they would and it's not unprecedented. I've seen it more in football, but it's happened in hoops too.
I wish no ill will to CJJ I do think he's a good guy relative to most in his profession. It would honestly be best and he could go somewhere where he is really wanted.

I'll help him pack his things and pay for the transport back to Texas.

Yall do know he beat LSU while at UNT right?

What in the frick does that have to do with anything? Didn't that Trent team win 2 games in league play?

I looked at one of their message boards and surprisingly nobody mentioned him. They brought up the coach at San Jacinto CC and Joe Dooley. They have a different AD since JJ's time there so he could look for his own guy.

I bet they at least call him. I'm not so sure Alleva will call all the folks on his list or at least one of their representatives.
He was more than content to say CJJ was the best available and used the late departure of Trent as cover. Really???
