average QBs with character issues. Thats not a good transition

I think Brandon and Feleipe(?) will have something to do with this 'transition'

9) Fess Irvin, kinda was the fall guy after duffing that free throw. He went on to have a decent career at Maryland, with Lefty(lets hide the body) Driesell at Maryland, who recruited Irvin in high school

ETA: not Maryland, James Madison University

Why didn't Lee get a shot against Bama?

Wouldn't have mattered. Watching the VA Tech LSU game in TS reminded me that sometimes you just have one of those days when you play your best. For LSU, that was one of them. I understand the QB blew, but the D was stout in 05 and 06 and had a lot of guys on that team in 07 for VA Tech, so for us to blow them out was a big deal.

On 1/9/12, Bama just had our number. Team was flat from the kickoff. Offense had a few penalties on the first drive and we went backwards. Heck even Wing gave up a return for almost a score. I know it wasn't all his fault, but he had like 21 inches of return yards per punt before that game. I will still never understand that break that Bama got. We beat them at their house fair and square and yet had to play them again. It wasn't like OK State was a scrub. They lost to Iowa State so I get it, but they blew the doors off of Oklahoma. Their coach was a puss and caved into Bama and didn't make a case of why his team should have played LSU. ESPN didn't help us either by letting Saban on the tv all day on Championship Saturday. If roles were reversed and LSU had lost 9-6 at home, guarantee you that OK state would have got the nod...i know, still

To be fair though, Archer had gutted the program prior to Hallman's arrival. He could not recruit all that well.

understatement of the year...I have followed LSU football for a long time and have never seen a worse recruiter than Archer.

Hell, Archer wasn't much older than the players when he was at LSU...there was no way parents were sending their kids to play for a head coach that young...
