I think he's capable of calling the checks but idk about his physical ability. I guess we will see

He got trucked in the spring game. But then again I remember a bunch of whining when he rejoined the squad during bowl season.
We're used to a headhunter at MLB. I'm skeptical of his playing ability, but hey it's Chavis, I trust his picks. He wants someone smart lining everyone up right.
Most feel barrow will slide inside after a few games.

I think it's because he's a different type of Mike than LSU fans have appreciated like D. Beckwith, Sheppard, and Minter. From reading comments about his role by Chavis and watching Welter, he seems more like an assist man which is very different from those guys.

Generally why I'll wait a few games to start bitching. Half the fan base already pretends they know how he'll perform.
If he's number one, then he's improved. I'll wait til he he's a detriment before bitching.

Hasn't done anything up to this point
Rarely ever gets singled out for good play in practice
Constantly gets talked about being replaced by someone else on defense (by the coaches)
Just instills zero confidence.

Good article. It'll be interesting to see how the position shakes out. If John Chavis is comfortable with Welter in the middle, then I am too.
Anyone seen enough of Louis in coverage to determine if he has good hips? If he does, he could be good at matching up with backs in the passing game.
