For you guys that can stomach being fans of both teams... Good news is that their home schedules do not conflict on any weekend this year:

I work with a guy who goes to all the games. He is clueless about the SEC in general. Just likes to follow local teams it seems. He went to USL and his daughter goes there now. But he likes the social aspect of LSU games.
I think it's weird.

When did ULL get a football team?

Awesome. I typically hit up Cajun games and leave at half to watch the away LSU games. If it's in BR however, I'm headed east on I-10.
In all honesty, this needed to be done by ULL. When LSU has a home game, Cajun field is noticeably less full.

I will not be going to any ULL games, but it's pretty crazy that it worked out that way.

You mean like how 75% of lsu fans never went to the school much less to a university? Yeah I agree, super weird.

I'm actually excited for this schedule. For the LSU away games I'm not going to, I'll go tailgate for a Cajuns game. It's something to do. Hell il even wear a red shirt.

Louisville claims "U of L" so if Lafayette claims "UL" you have to abide.

So you are saying that only people who attended a school can be fans of said school? That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. You do realize that most people are fans of college football teams long before they are ever of age to be a college student. And what the hell does it matter if you went to the university or not? Since the Saints, Pelicans, Yankees, & Astros aren't universities, I guess only residents of the city they reside in can be fans? No person outside of NOLA, NYC, Houston, or the states of Louisiana, New York, or Texas should root for any of those teams. To most people, reargardless of where they went to school, sports are entertainment & they are free to choose their allegiance. I have degrees from LSU, McNeese, & USL & I've never been to a McNeese or USL football game but I was attending LSU games long before I ever went to school there. It's great when alumni support their athletic team but "sidewalk" fans make up a large majority of most successful fanbases. The more successful a program is, the more interest there is thus leading to people attending games that are there for the sole purpose of being entertained. Smaller schools like ull, McNeese, etc have to rely heavily on alumni loyalty simply because they don't attract "outside" attention. So don't be jealous that the majority of people who live in Louisiana, regardless of what university they attended or did not attend, are LSU fans. That is why LSU sells out all of it's season tickets every year & has a 100K plus stadium. Deal with it.

Kind a strange thought process here. If you have tickets to an LSU home game you go to the game. But whether it's a home or away LSU game, you going to watch it on TV as opposed to going to a USL game, I would think.
