I don't think there has ever been a more polarizing player than TM.

I love the guy, and I don't get all the hate for him. Yeah, he fricked up. He loved LSU and still loves LSU. Some people just won't forgive, and I honestly just don't understand that.

LSU fans are odd in that they will turn on players and each other in a heartbeat and yet remain loyal to a former player who crapped all over them.

Mathieu didn't owe the fans anything. Its not a privledge to play LSU football. Its a business transaction. 2 years of football for 2 years of school. That's it.

Some LSU fans have that entitled mentality. Its patheitic.

Its not. Its something you have to work hard at to get, but that doesn't make it a priviledge. Anybody can become an LSU footballplayer if they are good enough. You could say its a privilege for LSU to get some of the players that they do.

Pretty sure that's the way people feel about their performance on the field and not the actual person/player.

Seriously Erin, you need to stop being such an antagonist here. You're having fun but they it to heart.

I truly feel TM is one of the least worthy players to ever wear an LSU uniform. I just didn't realize so many here were attached to his scrotum. Must be a guy thing because we aren't attracted to scrotums so much.

The fact that you are so naive ,as to think that performance on the field is not the most important thing, is hilarious. You sound like a child.

eh, i think it was a privilege for Mathieu being as LSU was the only big school to give him a chance by offering him a scholarship. for others who have dozens of offers from any team in the country, probably not as much and it's equally as much a privilege for the school to have them on their team. however, in general, it's a privilege to all college football players to play on any team. i'd say that about most entertainers. they do something that really doesn't provide all that much for society . were it not for them being good at playing a game, many of them would never have had the opportunity to go to college otherwise and would be forced into working dead end jobs all their lives. in that sense, it's absolutely a privilege for them that we care so much about a game that it provides the opportunity for them to make millions of dollars one day to play a game.

Since the vast majority of LSU athletes will never make a dime playing professional sports then, no, performance on the field is not the most important aspect of attending LSU for them.

You could say that about any profession. In today's society, entertainment is a valued part of life. For you to say its worthless compared to any other job is biased.
Or a hint of envy.

don't think so
his rivals page doesn't list them as offering
LINK
and this article says LSU was the only BCA school to offer
LINK
"Wilson tried to convince Tennessee to offer him a scholarship, to no avail because of Mathieu's size. Eventually, Wilson was hired at LSU, and he convinced Miles they had a diamond in the rough. It was the only scholarship offer from a BCS conference school."

Hmmmmmm.

Maybe that was TM's problem... He, like some of you idiots didn't look at his opp to play football for LSU as a privilege?
Maybe he'd taken things little more serious.

Oh well.
