Team ranking out of 128 FBS teams

Stat / 2014 / 2015 / trend

Offensive yards gained per game / 80 / 53 / up 27
Offensive points scored per game / 74 / 54 / up 20
Defensive yards allowed per game / 8 / 25 / down 17
Defensive points allowed per game / 3 / 45 / down 42

No specific special teams stats, but we all know they were not as good in 2015.

All three phases obviously need to improve to compete for championships.

Defense got worse but still not as bad as the offense. Gotta love the old Les Miles offense

Yeah. Top half in offense is better but nowhere near where it should be with top 10 recruiting classes.

Again, who's fault is that?

Our defense was better this year than last. I know the stats point in a different direction, but it's true. Defense and offense (and special teams) cannot be judged on their own with statistics.

Our offense was so bad last year that other teams played more conservatively against us. That's why we had such low yardage against our D.

2014 was the worst D in many years. They lost quite a few games for us. Miss State, Auburn, and ND ran roughshod over us.

Well, next year, there won't be a first year starter.

The offense played a major role in killing the defense in the Alabama game. Also the special teams didn't help out the defense either.

I thought the defense was good, and just suffered from the few big plays throughout games.
