Are Really Sorry About Your Game:

LINK

"Wait, you mean he’s not thinking about what a break Florida caught by not having to play LSU this weekend?"

“When people say stuff like that, that just shows how ignorant they are. That’s the maddening part about it,” Nolan said. “There’s kids on that team whose people are from these places that are getting hit. That’s a real concern; it’s not fake. It’s real. It’s here."

“It’s not like somebody’s trying to duck out of a game. It’s safety first. It’s not about football. You would be doing the kids a disservice if you’re thinking about football right now.”

Guess UF was more concerned about volleyball.....

You know how many teams have players whose families were in the path of this storm? A lot more than just Florida. Florida (the state) has players on teams all across the country. Let me know how many of them won't play.

The "safety first" thing..... UF is really playing that one up.

UF IS sending their women's volleyball team to S.C. and every other Fla. team, as has been pointed out, rescheduled their games.

takes photos and videos from Daytona Beach 100 miles southeast of Gainesville and talks about how considerate we need to be to everyone on the florida campus who were not affected by the storm. In fact most of there families on the coast probably came near gainesville and central florida to evacuate. Can anyone be a journalist these days? This guy sounds like an idiot.

Don't forget that's where this hurricane is headed.

Granted, it's no longer as strong as it was but it's still a hurricane.

They can send their volleyball team into the path of a hurricane but they can't play a football game when the all clear has been given. Can't play it at all over the weekend.

Makes sense to me.

I love they are making such narrow points.

First, the "safety" line is BS. Florida had all week to either: (1) move the game to an alternate site, or (2) delay the game to Sun/Mon.

The fact UF Players ("kids" as he calls them ) with families in the path of the storm was NEVER a consideration in where or when the game was to be played. Florida St. is still playing Miami, there are way more kids in that game who have families in the path of the hurricane.

Its fricked up that UF used a natural disaster to duck a game. Its also fricked up to use players' families as an excuse for ducking

Well Foley has Alex Jones on his side:

"19 Million to die if Florida capsizes" (during H. Mathew)

The segment starting at the 3:26 mark in the vid is priceless.

We have had this discussion before, but name a place in this country that is safe from all natural disasters, such as: hurricanes or tornados or earthquakes or extreme cold or extreme heat or extreme rainfall, etc.

Do we feel sorry for the whole country?

Is this the sorriest nation in the world?

It is actually making landfall in SC. So the hit may well be worse than was the case in Florida.
USC is playing football tomorrow.

Yeap. Gonna be difficult to explain those games when the poop comes down, and it will come down, the pike among all those claims about player and players' family safety by UF.

What about the players on other teams from Florida. LSU has a few.

There will be no explanation. Foley won't comment further. Why should he. The narrative is LSU refused to play "a very physical" Florida football team on Nov 19th. Meanwhile Mealy-Mouth Alleva says """you have to respect their decision."""

Just curious, but does Alleva have the option to file a complaint with the NCAA and perhaps get them to intervene and take this out of the hands of the SEC?

Also, what I'm disappointed about in Alleva's side of the handling of this is that he didn't hold a presser immediately after the first conversation with UF/SEC and certainly immediately after UF released their statement to get out in front of this instead of letting UF put their spin on the situation.

Otherwise, I agree he pretty much did what he could given the circumstances.

As for the narrative in the national media, I think it's shifting in LSU's favor a bit as more details of what went down were revealed.

This is an article from yesterday by WaPo:

Should have occurred Tuesday and again on Wednesday. Horse was out of the barn after the SEC made its decision.

I wonder if it has occurred to a single Fla football player that our HC and AD were concerned about the impact of losing.... as in "no confidence decision".

To be fair Alleva did make it very clear of every scenario offered from neutral sites to different days that were all turned down by Florida. Florida never offered November 19, like people claimed, and Alleva called that a flat out lie and shoddy journalism.
