LSU's problems

1. scheme: he didn't fit
2. development: moffit doesn't make strong/explosive lineman
3. coaching: he wasn't coached technique until his senior year

al woods was a legit 5-star talent. he needed coaching and physical development. he was a raw talent coming from a small school and he needed to drop weight and get stronger. pretty much LSU was the worst choice possible

LSU tried to turn him into a 1-gap DT, made him get way too small, and moffit's track record with developing strength is not strong. plus he was coached by a DL coach who simply did not even really coach.

basically LSU tried to put a square peg in a round hole and in the process made woods an ineffective player scheme-wise. on top of that, he was not coached in technique nor developed properly for his natural playing style.

this for a very raw kid with a ton of physical potential. hell he wasn't even redshirted

Davenport will probably follow him considering LSU has already tried to move him.

The guy is a physical speciman and tore up the combine. The reason he sucked is because he's soft and is very laid back (i'm not gonna say lazy because that wouldn't be fair). Sometimes blame has to be laid on the player.

I think its a legit question considering how LSU plays defense. They don't seem to have a clue how to use bigger DTs. The staff didn't even want to give Davenport a chance and wanted him to move to OT. But he went against it and wanted to continue at DT. I hope he sticks it to them and turns out to be a stud.

Davenport looks a lot like Woods, IMO. Very athletic, major recruit, huge, raw and coming from a small HS.

Your posts are actually getting more retarded. If that's even possible. Take a week or two. Do something (ANYTHING) besides posting on the rant. Then come back and try again.

He's going to be playing in a similar scheme in the NFL.

This is the biggest inaccuracy that I've seen you make many times on this board. In LSU's scheme (and most 4-3 schemes), DTs often have 2 gap responsibility.

3. coaching: he wasn't coached technique until his senior year

I think this is probably a fair comment.

Disagree w/ this statement. Moffit is only as effective as the attention to detail, or lack there of by the head coach.

at what point do you people start saying .... hey, maybe this guy just wasnt the talent that rivals said he was?
If you HAD to make a highlight reel for AW's during his days at LSU, face it...wouldnt be much to it.

Not everything is the coaches fault as many here would lead people to believe.

So far we've had a Miles apologist hold to form and offer an overtop stupid statement and ad hominem attacks on SFP. How about someone refute his points with and actual counter argument.

Nah, he'd be the number one overall pick if Pellini was still here. It's solely the coaches fault if a player doesn't develop in college. The player is just a brainless piece of putty in the mastermind coaches hands, and here at LSU, those coaches are crap.
