SEC RB, any game in a single season.

It's hard to find, but I just saw that Herschel had 4 200 yard games as a freshman.

And not the SEC, but Marcus Allen had 8 200 yard games in 1981

5... thought Walker had 5, I think he does have the most with 4 in the SEC. Buga bout to bust that.

herschell walker had 9 career games i think of 200+
4 of them were in his freshmen year.
Not sure how the other 5 were spread out his other 2 seasons.
Not sure if there's any other back taht definitively tops 4.

Answer:
Elroy "Crazy Legs" Hirsch... when he played for Coach Bear Bryant at University of Louisville, however I could be wrong on all accounts.

Was not McFadden or Tre Mason. I see Walker had 4 in 1980. Can find box scores for 1981 though.

I did find on article where Walker had 4 200 yard games in 1981 but that article was written in early November. If he had at least 1 in 1982 then we know the most he ever had was 4.

Confirmed Bo Jackson had 4 200 yard games in 1985. That's 2 backs with at least 4 200 yard games.

buga would have to get 200 yards in 3 of the next 5 to tie herschel

Don't think that's accurate. Walker didn't have more than 4 in a season.

I know he had 4 200 games as a freshmen.

His junior year i've confirmed at least 2 200 yard games.

That leaves maybe 3 his sophmore year, he only had 9 career 200 yard games.

Buga has 3, needs 2 to either break the record of 4 or maybe tie someone at 5 that we've yet to identify.

It is possible that someone had 5 200 yard games that isn't one of top single season leaders although not all that likely. Someone could have gotten hurt after etc.. I would think the record is likely to be 4 though.

Found this...

MOST GAMES GAINING 200 YARDS OR MORE
BY A FRESHMAN
Season
6—Jamario Thomas, North Texas, 2004

MOST CONSECUTIVE GAMES GAINING
200 YARDS OR MORE
Season
5—Marcus Allen, Southern California, 1981
Barry Sanders, Oklahoma St., 1988
Jamario Thomas, North Texas, 2004

Don't see much for the SEC tho...
