1.3 catches per game as a freshman.

To be fair, Dural, the leading receiver had 2.8 catches per game.

I think he's second team slot right now.

There weren't a lot of catches to go around last year, period.

I stupidly started a thread a while back wondering if Quinn might end up transferring at some point. I went the extreme route with him, but I wasn't suggesting he should. He'll find his niche in this offense if our QB's can get it together. But Dural, Dupree, and possibly Diarse will be our production guys. Chark and Johnson will be in the mix as well. It's hard to imagine a lot from Quinn now, but let's get the passing game figured out and see what he does.

OBJ, as noted in another thread, dropped a few passes as well.

As a sophomore after he tore it up his whole freshman year with 41 receptions.

Quinn may have been second in receptions, but that is a dubious honor for last year's team. He had 17. He also didn't hold onto his job for the entire season. Basically, he is a bad comparison to OBJ because OBJ's problems came in his second year, he was more productive as a freshman, and being second in receptions on last year's team is the equivalent of smelling second best in a garbage dump.

it'll play out one way or another. I think jazz ferguson has a real shot at playing time in his freshman season at least in the redzone. he's a matchup nightmare.

Quinn will be fine.
Nope - according to the rant he is doomed for one game of drops his first year.

We haven't seen the last of Quinn. He wasn't a starter his first year just cause.

So you don't think that he was the starter bc Dupre got hurt in camp and wasn't up to speed yet?

It wasn't one game.

The guy would have been better off at one of those pass happy teams like Texas Tech or Baylor. Could have helped him develop into an NFL possession type receiver a la Welker, Amendola. Not only is he lost in the talent, but he doesn't have a chance to have more than 3-4 balls thrown to him per game for the foreseen future. Like or not, that's the reality.

You could say that about any of our WRs. But the list of LSU WRs in the NFL would prove you wrong.

Bad games happen. Quinn won't be Bowe, but he'll catch 30-40 balls this season.

Zero, and I mean zero, chance of this happening, even if Quinn gets big playing time.

Hope he gets his mind right. He went from crowd surfing after the Ole Miss win to dropping away the Alabama game.

One thing I took away from the Spring game was how surprised I was that Quinn was a complete non factor. He wasn't on the field much, and I only recall one pass targeted to him, but I could be wrong on that.

My impression was that he had pretty much dropped off the charts. I think it might take an injury from someone above him to get some PT, then try to impress the coaches again.

the incoming crop of WR's coming in along with diarse vying for that 3rd spot and being more physical of a blocker than quinn is going to be tough to overcome.

Quinn will stay 4 years and be a starter his senior year.
