Sit former LSU standout Alex Bregman and incoming Tiger Trey Dawson next to each other and close your eyes. Listen to them talk about baseball, LSU, how they approach things.

See if you can tell the difference.
In fact, line up former and current coaches and try the same exercise. Words/phrases like 'coachable,' 'leader' and 'great example for other kids' are prominent.
The point? Not a whole lot seems to separate the outgoing Tigers' infield wizard and the kid who could get a serious crack at replacing him.
Dawson is a key member of LSU's incoming recruiting class, one that is heavy in position players to help fill in the gaps of a team that heads into 2016 needing to replace seven every-day regulars on the field and another at DH.
While Dawson's prep career wasn't quite as heralded as Bregman's, the similarities between the two are tough to miss.
Both hail from a small, off-the-beaten track state (New Mexico for Bregman, West Virginia for Dawson).
Both guided their high school programs to unprecedented success.
Both had chances to pass up college for pro ball.

That bill is so flat, but if he reminds us of Bregman, I'm willing to overlook it.

Will Dawson have Rhymes and Katz batting behind him?

Bold statement by the OP, I'm hoping Trey is a good player and will contribute to LSU. These type of comparisons before the kid gets to LSU are usually off the mark and not fair to the newcomer.

Been saying for sometime Dawson will be the SS and IMO Lochridge wins 3B. The kid from Georgia Wofford will also compete for 3B. This team should be a nice surprise next year. Byrd, Freeman & Zardon will see a lot of action (just referring to 3B, 2B & SS).

Every good player is now going to be compared to bregman.. Poor kids will never stand a chance

Bregs set quite the standard

Bregman was pretty much just an average player on this past years team. If you didn't know who he was he wouldn't stand out at all while watching an LSU baseball game. Every player in our lineup played just as good

I hope to God that you are just trolling. If not, you're an idiot.

If you just look at his BA alone with the others all of which were very good, then yeah he fit in with a team that hit very well for the most part. I guess somehow that seems average to some.
If you look at his defense, stolen bases, leadership, and hustle, I'm thinking way above average. When opposing teams walk you to face a hitter with a better BA, what does that tell you.
Clearly this "average" player pulled the wool over the eyes of everyone that gets paid to evaluate players. I have to agree with supadave3 on this one.

So much stupid in this freaking thread by just couple of people. If people did like you and just looked at stats yea he didn't look that much different. But I bet he walked more. I also bet you didn't watch many at bats. He hit so many balls hard this season. Freshmen year those balls dropped. This season not as much. But he was star in field and on base path
