Tree huggers and their dumb analogies

I am about fed up with seeing people post under any topic about Mike VI about how he should be released in a sanctuary and a natural habitat for the time he has left.. What idiot would take an animal that will die in 1-2 months without treatment and throw him to the wild when he could sit in a state of the art habitat getting medical attention and top quality food everyday.. Another thing is were do these dumb arse people get this BS about cats living longer and being happier in the wild. Cat in captivity average life expectancy is 16-20 years and a cat in the the wild is 10-15...Dont you think if a tiger would talk he would be begging to get brought to LSU....Come on you bunch of tree hugging liberal jackasses

Fresh perspective. All the tree huggers that inhabit the rant will surely take notice.

I see the problem. You are using logic.

Generally I agree with you, but I have two critiques:
1. When you're writing about how dumb people are don't make grammatical mistakes. And you did when you wrote,
2. Whether in the wild or in captivity the average life expectancy isn't a range of years, it's an exact number. So cats in captivity don't have an average life span of 16-20 years; they have an average of 17.7 years, or some other precise number. Citing a range shows it's bullshite. Although I'm sure you are right, and cats do live longer in captivity.

If you had a conscience, you'd more concerned that you care about tigers with cancer than you do about poors with cancer. If that poor wanted to get top-notch professional care like the tiger is getting, he should have gotten a better job, amirite?

Ok, now tell us how you REALLY feel.

Mike isn't a tree. You seem upset about other people opinions, let it go.

The only real argument is that 1) His prognosis with treatment is still not great. You are trying to abate the progression of the cancer in an effort to give him 1-2 years. 2) Animals don't understand the treatment process. Chemotherapy and radiation treatment often come with a lot of negative side effects, and Mike doesn't understand why he now feels sick.
I'm of the opinion that if Mike can be used to advance medical science, then the doctors should try everything they can.
