Anyone traveling from Houston to the game in NOLA?? Any ideas on how you plan to get through Beaumont bc of the flooding would be awesome!

U will probably need to go 99 to 45 N then use 190 to get around Beaumont and Orange.

I've pretty much decided at this point that it's just not going to happen.

I'm stuck in Lumberton Texas. Can't even get to Beaumont. Really wanted to attend this game. Can't believe this happened... oh well looks like I will be watching it on the couch.

The only way I can think of would be to go up 59 to Livingston. Cut over on 190 to 63 in Jasper to Leesville then Alexandria. If I-10 is good from Lafayette to BR you can go down 49 to Laffy. If not continue to Natchez, MS and go straight down to BR from there.

That drive Texas map is pretty cool. Is there a Louisiana version of it? Need to know if it's passable east of the state line.

It looks like you can take 287 North to Woodville and cut over through Jasper like I posted above.

I think the route through leesville will work...that is if they are not flooded. They had to open the dam at Toledo Bend. We are checking and I will let everyone know.

You must go North to go South. Sounds like some Sci-Fi BS

No big deal. The only thing that would flood would be the bridge on the Sabine river between TX and La. If that's the case take a left right on the outskirts of Burkeville and go to the Toledo Bend dam. Once in La take the first right and go straight to Anacoco and then south to Leesville.

As long as you are in Texas the speed limit is at least 65 and is 70 or 75 most of the time on the highways. It's probably close to the same amount of time to go across the dam as it is to drive 55 mph all the way to Leesville and then have to go through the town to get on the highway to Alec.

Making the drive from Houston to Nola at 7am on Saturday. I-10 through Beaumont and Orange roads has to be cleared by then... right? Have no idea how bad it is, but as of this post, it's still showing closed in certain areas of East TX.

I wouldn't expect I-10 to be clear at the Beaumont border for at least until next week; I wouldn't risk it.

I have a teacher friend that is coming from Katy to here. I'm sending her via Livingston/Leesville.
