I just don't understand the traffic problem, this contra flow thing is terrible.what nemrod came up with this great idea.i park by the track, live by u club but can not go left I have to go all the way around on the interstate to get home instead of 15 min. It take about 50.the problem is the lazy arse traffic cops just sit and watch the fans continue to cross when the light is green I have witnessed many near fights from angry motorists.if you try that at air burn, bama r Florida they will snatch you off the road.come on LSU use your brain and fix the problem it's not rocket science

Sigh...

The goal is to get all of the traffic off of campus. Not make sure you get home in 15 min.

because BRPD is full of fricking retards

They close my entire road off. Had friends stay with me for the MS State game, and three of the girls (who don't know their way around BR) went to grab beer and couldn't even get back on my road, Ben Hur, because the dumbasses had it shut off on both ends.

This is why I leave in the 3rd quarter for blowouts

a big part of the problem is that Tiger Stadium seating has been expanded over 30,000 seats then you don't have a train coming from NOLA with somewhere near 1000 people on board and there are no more buses coming from downtown which move a couple of thousand more people...

then you add the lack of proper infrastructure improvement and the logistical brilliance of Joe Alleva (yeah, sure) and you have a recipe for a clusterf@@@

This is exactly it. Majority of the people leaving will be heading to I 10 or 12. The goal is to get everyone away from campus not make sure you get home in record time

You know the traffic plan. It's not LSU or BRPD's fault that you choose to park in a lot that sends you in the opposite direction of your house. I live in NO and always park along Burbank or in a lot that I know I can easily access Burbank to get home/back to I-10.

This. I get home in 30 minutes every game because i don't park on the opposite fricking side of where I live. I avoid anything south of Highland if the interstates are you means to get home. It isn't complicated.

Or you could just park somewhere else. It's not like they change contraflow week to week.

Stay for the whole game. Have a few sodas after the game watching some football. Get in car and enjoy lack of traffic

Post game traffic is why I quit going to football games.

The last time I went we had four stadium club tickets and a parking pass in the lot across the street from the stadium where the old Alex Box used to be. We left when the game was over and from the time we got to our car to drive out of the lot until we got home, it took 2 hours and 15 minutes and we only live 5 miles from campus off of Highland Road. We literally could have walked home sooner.

They made us turn towards River Road on Skip Bertman Drive and we had to go all the way to the new casino before we could cut over towards Highland Road.

That was 6 years ago.

yes, it falls under him...in a discussion I had a couple of years back with the Chief of the LA State Police, I was told that LSU doesn't want to give up control...

another part of the problem is the total lack of communication...the street blockages should be well publicized so folks can plan...

I was staying in College Town last night and should have taken the fork off of South Stadium before getting to Stanford...you couldn't take a right onto Stanford and I had to turn around a mile or so toward Perkins and was stuck in traffic for 45 minutes...

No I dont think it does. This was an article before the 2015 season announcing contraflow changes.

LINK

quote:

No more contra flow on Nicholson Drive after LSU football games, the school announced Tuesday. In its place Burbank Drive, a four-lane street will be used.

quote:

LSU will continue to use the directional exiting traffic, which forces fans to leave campus through specific directions as determined by law enforcement officers. This directional exiting traffic plan is the same one that was in place last year.

If you know you can't make a left, why park there? I know where I need to go after a game so I park on the right side of campus to get out quicker. Make sense?

Yep, if only BRPD didn't force everyone to go to football games or run out to get beer mid game during SEC play. Damn those pigs.

Exactly. Plan accordingly. My fastest route is south on hey 30. So we park on that side. Either in front of Walk-ons or one if the lots before it cost 20-40 bucks but it's better than walking 8 miles.

Take a left out the lot and I'm on my way with minimal trouble
