Traffic on Essen last night

Anyone know what happened on Essen between Perkins & I-10? Was stuck in traffic for almost hour & half before able to turn on Summa and get to Bluebonnet?

construction I think, diverted to college and saved 30 min (how the frick college can be a shortcut to anything is beyond me).
Took 20 min to leave campus after the game from lot 409, took an hour to get from burbank at starring to perkins at starring.

Take the rout Perkins to Essen to I-10 after every game for past 10 years. From Perkins to I-10 flows very well. Last night a standstill for over an hour! Something had to happen.

Last few times I've been through there (between Perkins and I10) it's been total gridlock... and I'm not even talking about rush hour or gameday traffic.

They have been doing construction on that stretch every night for the last couple weeks.

Light malfunction at emergency entrance to the lake. I was stuck in it this am and called to notify police. Evidently nobody bother to call yesterday. Not surprising.

They weren't doing construction. I'm a cop and work that area. Construction has only been at nights. I got stuck in at as well way before the game was over. I think a light was malfunctioning

That light only let 6 cars thru per cycle. Sometimes only 4 if u didn't have ur game on.
