Tracking former LSU Tigers in the NFL: Week 2

A weekly team-by-team update on how former LSU Tigers are doing in the NFL.

ARIZONA CARDINALS:

The Cardinals defeated the Lions 25-21. Patrick Peterson started at cornerback and recorded four tackles and a pass deflection. On offense, he completed one pass for 17 yards and caught a pass for 17 yards. He also returned three punts for a total of 10 yards. Tyrann Mathieu finished tied for second on the team with six tackles and had one pass deflection. Kevin Minter played, but accumulated no stats. Curtis Taylor is on the practice squad.

BALTIMORE RAVENS:

The Ravens defeated the Browns 14-6. Marcus Spears played at defensive end and recorded three tackles.

BUFFALO BILLS:

The Bills defeated the Panthers 24-23. Kyle Williams started at defensive tackle and finished with six tackles, one tackle for loss and one pass defended. Ron Brooks was inactive with a foot injury.

CAROLINA PANTHERS:

The Panthers lost to the Bills 24-23. Wide receiver Brandon LaFell caught four passes for 13 yards.

CHICAGO BEARS:

The Bears defeated the Vikings 31-30. Craig Steltz played but accumulated no stats. Michael Ford was inactive.

CINCINNATI BENGALS:

The Bengals defeated the Steelers 20-10 on Monday night. Andrew Whitworth started at left tackle. The Bengals rushed for 127 yards and quarterback Andy Dalton was not sacked.

CLEVELAND BROWNS:

The Browns lost to the Ravens 14-6. Barkevious Mingo recorded his first NFL sack for a nine-yard loss and registered two tackles. Chris Faulk is on the physically unable to perform list.

DALLAS COWBOYS:

The Cowboys lost to the Chiefs 17-16. Morris Claiborne started at cornerback but accumulated no stats. Danny McCray recorded two special teams tackles.

DENVER BRONCOS:

The Broncos defeated the Giants 41-23. Trindon Holliday returned a punt 81 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. In total, he returned four punts for 121 yards and two kickoffs for 34 yards.

HOUSTON TEXANS:

The Texans defeated the Titans 30-24 in overtime. Sam Montgomery was inactive.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS:

The Colts lost to the Dolphins 24-20. LaRon Landry started at safety finished tied for the team-high with 11 tackles. Kelvin Sheppard played linebacker and made two tackles.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS:

The Chiefs defeated the Cowboys 17-16. Dwayne Bowe started at wide receiver and caught four passes for 56 yards, including the go-ahead 12-yard touchdown in the third quarter. Tyson Jackson started at defensive end and recorded two tackles and two passes defended.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS:

The Patriots defeated the Jets 13-10. Stevan Ridley started at running back and rushed for 40 yards on 16 carries.

NEW YORK GIANTS:

The Giants lost to the Broncos 41-23. Corey Webster started at cornerback and recorded five tackles. Wide receiver Reuben Randle caught three passes for 14 yards.

OAKLAND RAIDERS:

The Raiders defeated the Jaguars 19-9. Matt Flynn is on the roster but did not play.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES:

The Eagles lost to the Chargers 33-30. Donnie Jones punted three times with an average 44.7 yards-per-punt average and a long of 51 yards. Defensive tackle Bennie Logan recorded one tackle.

PITTSBURGH STEELERS:

The Steelers lost to the Bengals 20-10. Ryan Clark started at safety and recorded seven tackles. Al Woods is on the roster.

ST. LOUIS RAMS:

The Rams lost to the Falcons 31-24. Michael Brockers started at defensive tackle and recorded a quarterback hurry. Joe Barksdale played on the offensive line.

SAN DIEGO CHARGERS:

The Chargers defeated the Eagles 33-30. Drake Nevis and Brandon Taylor were inactive.

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS:

The 49ers lost to the Seahawks 29-3. Eric Reid started at safety, recorded his second interception of the season and made two tackles before leaving the game with a concussion. Glenn Dorsey played on the defensive line and recorded five tackles, including a sack for a five-yard loss.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS:

The Seahawks defeated the 49ers 29-3. Spencer Ware did not start but recorded three rushes for 10 yards. Tharold Simon is on the physically unable to perform list.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS:

The Buccaneers lost to the Saints 16-14. Russell Shepard played but did not accumulate any stats. Jacob Cutrera was placed on injured reserve on August 28.

TENNESSEE TITANS:

The Titans lost to the Texans 30-24 in overtime. Lavar Edwards was inactive.

WASHINGTON REDSKINS:

The Redskins lost to the Packers 38-20. Perry Riley started at inside linebacker and recorded four tackles.

Even though not LSU,

Ike Taylor(Louisiana-Lafayette)(11 yrs NFL) is STILL a SHUT DOWN Corner.
Man he was all over AJ Green all night long. Green was targeted 14 times and only had 6 receptions.

Good job.

Additions:

TM made a nice game ending tackle
PP struggled with Megatron (who doesn't)
Randle was returning kicks and/or punts I think

I saw Trindon's punt return. Man, he can turn on the jets.

I wish we would have used him more on that motion sweep play like TCU ran against us with their speedy little guy.

Unfortunately he recorded one stat... he was flagged for PI to extend the game winning drive. Better luck next week Mo! We still love ya!

He's an all time Tiger, but at some point we need to realize this.

You should have mentioned RR was connected to three turnovers. 2 ints (one fluke) and a fumble at the goalline
