I know we are picked 3rd in the West by everyone, but I beleive that our defense will kick arse. At least I hope so.
We will have weapons on offense, provided JJ is everything we expect him to be, but our schedule is tough. I say 10-2, maybe 11-1 but could be 9-3.
Do you beleive the media hype about or defense?

Considering he probably recieved his copy of SI this week and they have us going 5-3 in SEC West or 3rd place.

Nice calling someone a dumbfrick just because they read a different publication than yourself.

I've seen many sportswriters from a natl perspective pick LSU to win the west.

Everyone could include what he reads, he could be generalizing which is something 99% of this board does.

Still wondering how it makes him a dumbfrick just because you disagree with his statement.

bama and ole piss BOTH miss UGA/FL

If it makes you feel any better, LSU has made it to the SECCG every odd numbered year this decade. That's 2001, 2003, 2005, and 2007. 2009? Hrm, I think so!

Schedules come and go, some years they work in your favor and some years they don't. Ole Miss has a bye in week two, meaning they have to play 11 straight weeks. That's not exactly helping their cause.

They've got as good a chance to win it as anybody. A great lineup and pitching staff. Can't ask for too much more.

It really stuns me how a team with a rookie QB can be picked to win the division. I think Ole Miss is the team to beat, this year. With Nutt's recruiting, however, it won't last.

Yeah, because Nutt's recruiting classes the past two years rank way below Orgeron's.

O's class ranked
2005 - 30th
2006 - 16th

Nutt's class ranked
2008 - 29th
2009 - 18th

BTW, a lot of O's recruits didn't qualify. If Ole Miss drops in enrolled rankings, it won't be much.

AND, to top it all off, Nutt's recruits in his FIRST SEASON accounted for 23 points in the Cotton Bowl. (Gerald Harris 2 TDs, Bolden TD, Patrick Trahan caused a safety).

O recruited well, but Nutt's doing just as good at this point. Massie, Cotton, Barksdale, Patterson, Kight, Shackelford, Scott, Simon, Grandy, etc. all in the 09 class and will contribute this year.

Ole Miss ranked in the middle of the pack in the SEC with O's recruiting classes, and those recruits are now part of a preseason top 10 team.

Ole Miss is ranked 61st in recruiting for the 2010 with only five commitments. The Rebels lost a lot of openings with their obscenely large class this past year.

11-1 or 12-0. We're 8-0 this decade playing @ Ole Miss and Bama, and we will be the 1st real test for UF (if you look at their schedule).

We were ranked in the 40's on the morning of signing day last year, and were named a disappointment by Rivals that MSU killed us in recruiting (an article published by Rivals a week before signing day).

Of course, Ole Miss ended up being at #14 on signing day (moved down 4 spots due to later signings) and above MSU and Rivals came out and apologized for calling it too early.

We are only taking around 18-20 this year, with the way numbers are. There are plenty of recruits to get. Nutt is going to be extremely selective. Of course, right now, Ole Miss could have a higher class, but is withholding scholarships for the hope of better players. Nutt signed over 10, I think over 12, in less than a week before signing day.

Ole Miss is going to be fine. We won't have the flashy classes, but hey, we didn't have them last year and LSU did.

As for Ole Miss/LSU, we hadn't won at LSU since, what 2001. I guess our team should've just stayed in Oxford last year because the past record was against them.
