Total different take on the Ricky Jefferson saga

Cop was plain clothes and allegedly never identified himself while chasing the first kid. Long article, but worth the read - not sure who's right, but is somewhat eye opening:

re: Total different take on the Ricky Jefferson saga
really does sound like a bunch of BS. I doubt anything comes of it in the end.

Ricky and his friend just came to the defense of a buddy who was getting attacked by some white dude.

And I fricking hate Jordan Jefferson. Not at all knighting for the kid.

If you were Ricky though, wouldn't you have tried to lay low and stay out of it being that your the high profile LSU recruit and brother of former LSU QB. He had to have done something to warrant getting arrested.

I'm trying to figure out how this got by all the media in the first place.

That sounds like a good theory but I'm gonna go with the police version that Ricky and his boyz were patrolling the parade route for cops to jump.

Well if he didn't know the guy was a cop and he was protecting his friend then I'm sure he didn't think he was doing anything wrong or illegal.

Perhaps.

But if you're just out having fun at Mardi Gras and some dude starts beating on your buddy your first reaction is to get in there and help. I'd rather someone like that play for LSU than some pussy that leaves a friend hanging after getting attacked.

This is all based on the assumption that they didn't know this was an undercover cop and he never identified himself.

Even then sometimes cops step over the line. There's hundreds of youtube videos that prove it. I think just b/c someone is a cop it doesn't make them immune to getting their arse beat of they did something unwarranted.

Am I the only person that found it a little funny that the original article on the incident made a point to say that the person was identifiable as a cop?

Why would you state that unless there was some question about it? Oh, because you're trying to pre-empt the fact that he wasn't identifiable as a cop.

It's Louisiana Weekly - seriously, what do you expect them to write?

But he was laying low, just enjoying himself at a Mardi Gras parade. Then this plain-clothes cop got involved...

Not saying he's totally innocent but implying he was out looking for trouble is stupid

Would you lay low if one of your friends were grabbed from the back and the dude was ripping off his clothes? I certainly wouldn't especially if I had no idea who the frick it was.

I'm going with their side if the story. I fricking hate how cops turn stories around to seem like they are victims just to just themselves against their own negligence and abuse of power

I have seen, all too many times, police act exactly as described in this article; I despise thuggery -- especially when it's by the police. The charges are serious, and the accused are presumed innocent. So far, the evidence clearly supports innocence.

This is not a different take. It's a nearly identical take to someone who posted in that first thread when this story hit that has connections to Destrehan. Those with a dislike for JJ had no interest in hearing it, and immediately labeled him and his friends thugs.

The only thing remarkable about this story is that it's taken this long to come out...but it's nearly verbatim to what we heard that day from that poster with Destrehan contacts.
