uh, when the QB retreats into the backfield to (possibly) hand off to the RB
(uh)There's different footwork for different runs, but most involve a step not retreats.
That sounds like a seldom used draw to me.

Personally I hate it for the simple reason that it takes away any chance of play action, which is where I believe Harris is at his best.

Amen! I have been saying this for years. Also the RB has to concentrate more on catching the toss that any advantage gained by getting the ball earlier is lost in ability to survey the field in front of him. Don't confuse what I am saying on a toss sweep whick I support but we don't run that much. Idea there is to gain the outside edge quicker.

If there wasnt an advantage to the play i dont think cam and miles would run it. If the play carried a high probability of fumble you know Miles wouldnt run it with how he is on ball security.

Again this is a play action off of the toss dive. Saying you can't run play action off of it is false.

With a handoff stuck in his gut, the RB's eyes never have to leave the D.
Handoff from the gun I can see your point. Shallow handoff under center RB is close to gap making it difficult to change anything(dive).
Deep handoffs under center you often see momentum losing stutter waiting for blocks to mature.
LSU backs are quick reading on the fly, hitting lanes at high speed, breakin arms...... I'm ready for some football!!!
