Teams need to stay the hell away from Frank

Pay Frank whatever he wants. He says he's happy here and this is his dream job but his name can only come up so many times before someone makes him the right offer. That will be a shitty day for LSU fans unless it's us offering him the HC job.

Knowing he has received national attention for years, I say he is underrated as a coach. Frank is extremely detailed, organized, knowledgeable, and is a future star HC IMO. I've always hoped he could take over for les one day honestly. Maybe if he goes to another school he would come back as our HC one day. I'd hate to lose him, but at the same time I want him to really succeed personally. Especially after Saban screwed him over years ago.

Frank Wilson: When I think of Frank Wilson, I think of Mike Tomlin, who spent only one year as a coordinator before landing the Pittsburgh Steelers’ head coaching job. Both coaches are pure leaders with engaging personalities. Wilson has coached under Ed Orgeron, Lane Kiffin, Larry Fedora, and Hugh Freeze, who offered Wilson the offensive coordinator job at Ole Miss, but Wilson decided to stay at LSU. Wilson actually interviewed for the head coaching job at Ole Miss before Freeze landed the job. There’s a reason why Les Miles is paying Wilson $600,000 to serve as the running backs / recruiting coordinator / associate head coach: He’s the single most valuable coach in the country that you want coordinating (literally) your recruiting efforts. As Tony Barnhart said this morning on The Tim Brando Show, “What team in America has guys like Alfred Blue and Kenny Hilliard as their two, three, and four running backs?” That’s easy – a group coached by Frank Wilson.
I would be upset if we lost Frank in the near future. He is very vital to the success of this team. Good write up.

I get nervous every year when coaching turmoil cranks up like it has with Mack. I don't think a major program would hire a guy with no HC experience, but who they do hire my go after him as OC or he may get an offer from a Louisville type program looking to stay relevant after their up and coming coach takes a big time job.
I literally go down the list of our recruiting targets and note all the ones we stand to lose without Frank here, and it is never pretty.

That's the bad thing about success.

No need to explain. You either understand the history or haven't been exposed to it. Frank has done enough since then to more than stand on his own two feet at this point. If I were a fan of any school coach searching, FW would be on my short list. Hopefully with this new sec network money we throw enough money his way to keep him.
I still hope he's our secret coach in waiting.

How about a pay raise and a stable job where you know you won't fired?
If he gets a HC and does bad, he's fired.

Explain how Saban screwed him. Sounds like more bullshite to me...

Seriously? You don't know?

Pretty common knowledge that Saban offered Frank Wilson a job when FW was HC at OP Walker the year that OP Walker had several studs being recruited by LSU, including Buster Davis, Dominic Cooper, and a big time safety named Daryl Johnson (probably the most talented of the group) who was never able to qualify. LSU signed all three, Saban revoked the job offer.

1. Teams need to stay the hell away.
2. Pay him whatever he wants
3. I hope he moves up to OC and HC here.

he's not under the radar
he's one of the single best recruiters in the entire country every single year
that's an extremely valuable asset

I agree 100%. I just meant he is as good of a coach, at any position, as he is a recruiter.
