Y'all do realize Alabama,Texas and Southern Cal had openings that year,too. They didn't give in an interview.
Besides his head coaching experience had been in the USFL. This is like the ESPN 30 for 30 on Portland taking Sam Bowie over Jordan. Who the hell in Dec of 1986 knew what kind of coach Spurrier would make.
The BOS has made some blunders,but this wasn't one of them.
