the word football and genius should not be used in the same sentence. he may be Mensa and has had one good year but I think we should know more about him. knowing this board, they like him only because he runs a wide open offense and bother themselves with no other details.

I have noticed a slight difference in QB play and offensive performance since Herman left tOSU. He basically was the reason, it appears, they were so successful last year.

He goes to a grease fire in Houston and they are now 10-1 and have a 5 star defensive tackle committed to their program in 2016 (that he out recruited this LSU staff to get).

He would be a GREAT hire.

TampaTiger22 HE IS 10-1 THIS YEAR! Ohio State's offence has drop off since he left. Please just take the time to look over his Bio. He is a recruiter and would finally get LSU a great QB.

frick no

You don't create this shite show for that hire. Should miles have resigned, I get it. But you don't fire this staff, risk losing Wikson, Raymond and Orgeron for Tom fricking Hermann.

Raymond hasn't exactly been the best DB coach we've had recently

Pehaps not considered a great coach, but Miles was a very successful P5 coach that led a program at a big-time level for a number of years. Herman has 1 year of experience as the CEO.

Miles was head coach for 4 years. Not one of those years did he have less than 4 losses. He's a good coach. Just not a great one that everyone thinks he is.

I am concerned 1 yr of head coaching experience is not enough to know whether he's the right guy.

ATM is paying a guy from Houston $6+ million that people thought was a home run hire, and he has been meh.

Why are people acting like Houston was a shite team before Herman got there? This is a team that has only had a sub .500 record twice in the last 11 years. They've won 10+ games four times in the last 10 years. People are acting like Houston is North Texas or something.

No he shouldn't. He's not the home run candidate you run Miles off for. It's Jimbo or bust.

I'd rather Jimbo but I'd be fine with Herman or Fuente.

Eta: looked it up.. 28-21 and 16-16 in conference, so stop with very successful at big time level talk

They averaged about 4 wins a season before Miles got there.

It would be like saying Saban wasn't that successful here his first couple years (2 8 win seasons). It is all relative.

I am fortunate to have a friend that is an offensive starter at UH. Based on everything I've heard and seen this year, Herman would have no problem winning over this fan base. They guy is a winner and demands a lot from his players - to him everything in life is about winning and losing (screw participation trophies). He's also a great motivational speaker. I'd love for him to bring his mentality and attitude to LSU.

Im sorry but he has only 1 year as a head coach and the conference he plays in is not very strong.

Sad thing is with this fan base, no coach will ever come in here and completely please the masses. LSU Fans are too damned spoiled. I've been a fan since back in the 60's and I have always been faithful. I remember Charley McClendon who was our winningest coach of all time was always on the hot seat. Hell Les has done way better than he did. You will never please everyone. I think Miles needs to accept that he isn't the offensive genius he thinks he is and allows an OC to do his thing with no interference. Defensively I'd would go after another DC. I don't think Steel is the man.

Bo Rein was 34 years old when he was hired, so Herman at 40 could do what Rein was never given a chance to do.
