Yikes. Either our front 7 is going to kill it this season or the OL is really struggling. Hopefully it's more of the former.

Consider what the 2nd team OL looks like.

I don't know how they will know but it's obvious this has been a common theme throughout camp. The o line is a liability this year and there is no denying that. People that think everything will be fine as long as there are no injuries need to be realistic. How often does a linemen make it through camp without an injury much less an entire 12 game season?

it is a riddle wrapped in an enigma encased within a puzzle.

i'm happy, yet sad and confused at the same time.

sorry, these pre season scrimmages are not very meaningful even if they are legit stats and I do not think they are. many are situational where they run the same play over and over and shite like that or at least run plays from the same situation over and over.

just about every offense in the nation is behind their defense at this time of the year (if they have a decent D). it is normal. the OL's have not gelled and often not even 100% decided on yet, the WR's are not in their groove, etc.

This season can't start soon enough. Conjecture and guessing season has gone on long enough.

We need to go after Texas A@m offensive line coach. Great recruiter and always seems to have All-american left tackles year after year.

Why? Last season LSU had the consensus number one rated offensive line in the country. Is number one not good enough for you?

Pass protection was once again an issue today

Just gonna throw this out there, how is our O-Line? Sure we may have good quarterbacks, but for the past few seasons our O-LINE has struggled, any word?

ETA: Our QB's won't thrive if they never get the opportunity, see Etling last year.

I hate to burst your naive bubble, but last season LSU's offensive line was the consensus number one offensive line in the country.

It only performed badly in one game, but that's because it was still strapped down with the old Less Miles antiquated offense. Therefore, Alabama was able to destroy them because they obviously knew the plays coming before the ball was snapped. That won't happen anymore now that Coach O is our offensive coordinator.

From what I'm gathering from the coaches comments, it looks like Narcisse will assume the role Jordan Jefferson had when Lee was starting. Am I jumping to the wrong conclusions, or is anyone else getting the same feelings?

How does Narcisse get only two pass attempts in the scrimmage? How does that keep Narcisse fully tuned in? The picture showing Narcisse with his head down and Brennan smiling seems to represent how the two are being treated in the competition.

No stats for McMillan? Since Brennan showed up there seems to have been a coronation rather than fair competition. That's why Scott left. His father saying he can now be happy again. He was unhappy because he was never given a fair chance to compete. This non-competition for the QBs can be very negative for the team.

It seemed as if there were 15 holding calls today.

Two passes were total interceptions too, but wound up dropped

Hmmm. Seems like you're intimating something. Why aren't you worried how many passes Caleb Lewis threw?

Maybe the coaches feel like McMillan hasn't done enough in practice to earn scrimmage reps. This isn't pop Warner. Not everyone has to play.

Maybe Narcisse is going to have a short yardage/goal line package that the coaches needed to work on. Maybe his role on the team has been defined already and he's not in the running to be the starter, so the coaches are getting him work in areas that he has a chance to play this year. Maybe he'll end up with more playing time than Brennan because of this. Maybe he's still not good at getting the snap from center. I read that this spring was the first time he's had to do that.

I really don't understand how some of y'all think that an open competitive means equal reps for everyone. The coaches still have to have a pecking order with reps distributed accordingly. The guys who are down the order simply have to do more with less chances. That's life. Make the most of your opportunities. Earn your reps.

Everything I've seen and read tells me that this staff is creating a highly competitive culture and all playing time will be based on merit, not seniority or other factors you seem to be hinting at.

here we go again. you haven't a clue what the QB competition consisted of yet you say devisive things like the above? you use as "proof" one picture. it seems that EVERY frickING YEAR we have some idiot crying that the QB competition was unfair or there was not one at all. I suspect it is because their favorite just didn't win it. YOU CAN ONLY HAVE ONE QB STARTER.

Agree. Barring injury neither needs to start anyway. I hope both can sit back, and develop mentally and physically so that we have two guys ready for the next two to three years. Definitely room for both to play and be productive in the future.

this is pretty discouraging. I wish for just one year we could know for sure that this guy is our guy. From beginning to end of the season. Mettenberger 2013 is the only QB I can even remotely remember in the last 10 years where that was the case

You better hope Narcisse and Brennan get as many snaps as possible. It's very likely they will be the only 2 QBs on scholarship next year.

Unlike you fool, I could care less which is the starting QB. I am sure you are among those who want to crown Brennan. Thus your attack on me. I do know if the head coach claims the 3 backup QBs are even, then they should receive an even opportunity. The stats do not reflect that. And whether your stupid arse realizes it or not, if the competition is not fair it will divide the team. And that's a fact.

Until yerterday, Lewis was a walk on nonscholarship walkon QB. He has never been in the conversation. It was Coach O who stated Brennan, Narcisse and McMillan were even for the number 2 spot.

I never said anything about equal reps but 21.5 avg passes to 2 or 0 does not represent being given an opportunity.
