Yeah he has no chance to play this year so take the redshirt in case he does want to stay longer. There's no real benefit to not red shirting him

Why would you not want him to gain in game experience. If he plans on starting at left tackle next year he won't be here for 5 years. Defend your point of view please.

The coaches have watched him nearly all of fall camp and obviously don't think he's ready to see the field. You either trust their evals or you don't. I'm perfectly fine with it.

because anything can happen and no reason to not take advantage. he has a world of talent but may require a lot of work.

i just like using the rules to your favor. guys like manziel and winston redshirted.. did it really matter either way.. not really. yes they both were gone once the 3rd year hit, but both were much more mentally prepared for when they did start.. so, it may benefit okeke's development mentally to just focus on the mental part and make sure he keeps his academics in order.

while most likely, you can't say for absolute certain he is a 3 year guy. i just really prefer redshirting guys in their freshman year if they are not going to contribute on the field. just being in the system and growing physically gives them a huge leg up the following year..

The guy has only been playing football for two years. He's still learning the position. A redshirt year will do wonders for him.

Maybe not playing time against the big boys but still will get plenty of experience in garbage time. Which could potentially be a lot of minutes.

Okeke taking a redshirt whatttt. Nobody stays 5 years anymore with that talent

What else is he going to do it's the OL not RB. I'm pretty sure Malone, Domond, Pocic are the backup tackles.

Going up against lsu d line in practice will do more for him than going up against McNeese in garbage time

Where is this Okeke red shirting info coming from?

A source and backstory would be helpful.

Unless something changed, it was reported a while ago when he reported that he was not cleared to play this fall. It is a situation like TV had, except for different reasons. He will be cleared after this semester, but is allowed to practice with the team in the meantime.

Salviati usually posts a 25 paragraph update but it's usually mostly how Jennings is improving and how Jordan Jefferson didn't really suck.
Since LSU Fans and Alums that really care about the program long term are always looking ahead to the future, how do McMillan and Etling look throwing the football? Are they even getting enough snaps to form an opinion?

Okeke has to redshirt because hes not cleared to play this year only practice with the team. Its a part of him being qualified to be accepted at LSU.

Chidi is in the same case Valentine was in, needs to be enrolled for a year before fully qualifying

He can absolutely start as a redshirt freshman next year too.
