What record should Les have to have next year to keep his job?

At first I was part of the crew who wanted Miles out ASAP, but now I believe he needs one more year.

This team is young and has taken some lumps. If he can manage to win against aTm and a bowl win, he deserves to earn another year.

If granted another year should lose no more than two games max.

11-2 next year to keep his job. And one of those can not be to Alabama!

He couldn't lose more than one game. And he would have to beat Alabama. Basically he would have to win the SEC west.

The issue, to me anyway, has been the way he has lost games this year. LSU has been blown out three games in a row and looked clueless in all three games.

I'm on board with that just as long as it is with the stipulation that he has to make major changes to his staff on the offense side of the ball and with Special teams. We really can't suffer through another year of unimaginative I formation power football and a OC who seems to not know how to adeqauately coach anything else. When ever we get away from his bread and butter we look like doisorganized pee wee football team.

This is beyond unbelievable! What is wrong with you people? Miles is who he is! He isn't going to change, he isn't going to adapt, and he sure as Hell won't win the SEC West if you keep him around next year or another ten years!

That and the fact that his defense has 20 pts or more thrown on them in the last 9 games is not helpful. Also the fact that he has squandered a lot of talent like Shepard ( a lot of TAF guys are still very upset with that ...I wonder why? ) Too many underclassmen jumping at the NFL at the earliest opportunity as opposed to some other programs...mostly on defense.

These fans shouldn't be referred to as, "one more year" people.

These fans know that Les will not be shown the door this year, but possibly next year.

To the "Les is getting fired this week" people, my question is, "Did you also fall for the Steve Schneider report that LSU was going to the 2006 Rose Bowl?"

Did you also fall for Herbie's inside information that Les Miles was going to Michigan before the 2007 SEC Championship Game?

Did you also fall for the "Les is in hot water for inappropriate conduct" with a co-ed rumors in the Spring of 2013?

We've been here before. Use common sense.

For me, it's not about that. It's about competing with juniors and seniors with a QB who has had a year's worth of starting under his belt (next year) vs. sophomores and juniors with little experience at QB (this year). It's about keeping the top recruiting class, so that when Miles does shite the bed, we can bring in a noob with excellent talent. It's about having a system in place that the starting QB understands and is accustomed to as opposed to a new coach trying to implement a new scheme with all new coaches.

I'm a negatiger since LSU hired Miles, and I don't hold out hope that Miles will do something special with this team next year--yes, he'll probably blow it. But I think that he can (w/emphasis) do something special with this team, a la the transition from 2010 to 2011. What do we have to lose? Tom Herman? Another season? I could make (and have made) an argument for canning Miles in any number of years he's been here, and this year ain't the one.

What if he wins against aTm bust lose the bowl game? Firing him then will put LSU behind looking for coaches.

If miles was to stay one more year I would hope that he would retire regardless of the outcome next year. Announce it this year and groom his replacement.

To late now, you can not have a lame duck coach with no replacement named. That would kill recruiting.

I had no problems with another season, until you Allevas ultimatum and board members releasing info that he may be gone.

I have better things to do with my time than get into pissing contests with idiots. I have no control over the immediate situation, but mark my words, if they keep Miles for another year there will be no significant changes. Miles is who he is, stubborn to the end, so don't go looking for any SECCG appearances or playoff appearances - it won't happen under Les!

Sorry, Pumper, I'm not going away. I'll be here to continue to hold up cold reality to all you Les Miles worshipers.
