TM7 2011 stats vs Charles Woodson's Heisman Yr. stats

In watching LSU football over many years, I've not personally witnessed anything more exciting than watching Tyrann Mathieu play special teams and defense. He simply changes the momentum and has kept us in games.
When Michigan's Charles Woodson won the Heisman as the first defensive player in a long time to do so his stats were as follows:
47tackles, 1 sack, 8 ints, 12 receptions, 3 total TD’s, & he returned 33 punts for 283 yards. No defensive TD’s but 3 TD’s from scrimmage with 246 yards.
TM7's stats from 2011 were:
59 solo + 17 assisted = 76 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 2 interceptions, 0 receptions, 4 total TD’s, 2 TD’s (punt returns), 4 fumble returns for 39 yards, returned 24 punts for 428 yards, & had 476 All purpose yards, 7.5 tackles for a loss, 9 passes broken up, 3 QB hurries, 6 forced fumbles.
I know there were strong offensive players that deserved the trophy last year, and RGIII was deserving, so was Luck.
If it had gone to the honey badger though, he would have compared favorably to Woodson is all I'm saying.
Does anyone think he will come close to repeating last years performance?

Yes, I do. He just has natural football instincts along with his athleticism. He's a player.

yes def will repeat...and maybe be better who knows...when woodson won there must of not been very many good Offensive players but i do not know

I don't think he deserved the Heisman last year unfortunately. He needs more interceptions and/or return yardage IMO. The FFs are amazing, but he needs to up his yardage/TD output because the Heisman voters love stats. I think he'll be able to do that playing a few more scrubs

It's gonna be extremely hard to repeat that. Especially he is playing more corner only.

Does Peyton Manning ring a bell?

He did great. To me the big difference was Woodson was an every down corner and people did not throw his way. They will throw at tm7. Pp7 was more like Woodson in my opinion.

The more apt comparison to Woodsons stats would be Peyton Mannings. IMO, one of the most shocking Heisman votes ever.
TM7 had a great year last year, but I have no issue with Griffin winning.

Yep - he is more Polamalu than anything, ie a safety who plays all over the field.

Don't forget Ryan Leaf and Randy Moss.
Moss's 25 TD receptions was pretty impressive at the time.

Why wouldn't he?
Last year was the second straight season he did what he did. I see no reaon for a drop in his production. He's not gonna lose his aggresiveness or football IQ during the offseason.

You are leaving out the suspensions stat.
Champ Bailey had better stats than Woodson the next year IIRC.

I doubt he'll have the year he did last year because teams are going to game plan for him. I can see offenses running formations designed to keep TM7 from disrupting their backfield, at which the little ball of hate is a friggin prodigy!
I also think teams will punt to the sideline instead of watching TM7 and OBJ run 'em back. Man, these are good years for the Tigers!

tl;dr
But considering Woodson got the Heisman that year for "political" reasons (snubbing Manning) and didn't DESERVE it, I'd say the same for TM7.

yeah. probably not the fumbles (though he has a nose for that like I've never seen), but I wouldn't be surprised to see him get more INTs and more punt return yards with everything else staying around the same.

ESPN won Woodson the Heisman

I would jizz if the Honey Badger lines up at RB or slot for a few plays.
