Another football season gone, many questions left unanswered...with all the players entering the NFL draft...we will see what next season brings.
I am now ready for baseball...close the books on football...season over..move on and get ready for baseball...any predictions on the season?

Thank You

Super Regional at worst this year I think.. Have to replace two key defensive players that held down the left side of the infield, if we can do that we should be pretty good hitting will be better.

Wheres Adam?

He's commented both in my thread and the other thread.

The beginning of his annual preview is still scheduled for February 1.

Good deal. Can't wait to see what he has to say this year.

The one critical area I feel we've been lacking in is pitching...or lack of depth at the position
I have heard that the pitching is going to be way better than last season or previous seasons...
either way I'm pumped...ready for the first pitch!

Will Michael Barash be eligible this year? I just read an article about him skipping his senior year of HS to enroll in LSU, but he's not listed on the roster yet. Is it a matter of LSU having to wait until he starts attending classes before they can list him?

I'd say things look very good this year if the team can simply find a way to pitch well without Gausman, while also finding an infield arrangement that clicks defensively.

The hitting lineup should be better, as the biggest losses were Austin Nola & Hanover, each of whom had terrible averages (.239 & .236) in conference play. Moore had a .254 average, so hopefully he can pick it up a little this year after getting used to the college game, and of course the big deal is everybody waiting in anticipation to see what Bregman & McMullen can do.

Barash is eligible. I'm not sure what their plans are for him and Ross, but he will play. Otherwise, I doubt he would have come.

Bregman will be really good as well as Laird in the outfield. Also look for Ibarra to help out in the infield. He looked good at second but I think he'll play at third with jones at second. Although Katz could play at second. Many believe Katz will see time at third but it did not look good when he worked there. The pitching looked promising this fall.

Can't wait for the season to begin.

Ah, I'm seeing his Perfect Game profile now, and apparently he's a C/3B prospect, which would fit LSU just perfect, because that's exactly the position where the team has a huge question mark. In fact, I'm not sure if anyone else on the team is accustomed to being a day-to-day 3B.

The team could see Bregman/Jones/Barash at 2B/SS/3B, with Yocom, Foster, & Ibarra waiting in reserve.

(With Jones, Foster, & Katz, you have three guys who started at CF last year who could all being playing infield positions this year. )

Also, it's often a good idea in college baseball to give your catcher a rest day on weekends. Perhaps Barash could be the Sunday catcher or something like that.

January prognostications mean little, but at this point, I'd say this squad has Omaha written all over it.

Barash I believe was recruited to bolster the catcher position and was a steal if the reports are correct. But in baseball, if you can help anywhere, you will find yourself on the field.
