But, it is a fact that the DL and LBs gave up 800 yds on the ground in that three-game skid. That's not BH's fault. And it's arguably the primary reason we lost those games.

It will be a huge loss losing KB. We lost our best interioir dlineman. Losinv our best interioir lb could be really bad when you take both injuries into account. I know we have young ilbs woth promise but its very rare for a true freshman lb to play well for an entire season.

You can't expect BH to hand off so much, yet execute the very few times he does throw. Besides, based on history its pretty damn obvious when LSU is going to run or throw. You see a change of personnel in the backfield, AND you see the big fat TE's come out instead of the leaner receiving TE's.

This exactly. This is what stats don't show. Predictability. Once this stops then we will win the big games.

Beckwith is easily the most important player on this team that needs to stay healthy all year long. Even more so than Harris.
If Harris can complete passes on 3rd down and we can move the chains more this year, there's really no reason to lose to anyone, assuming health to the D-line and Beckwith.

Harris was far from the biggest problem last year.

The lines got whipped in several games, especially the losses.

Alabama - 250 yards (210 yards to Derrick Henry alone)
TOP: LSU 20:33, Bama 39:27-Defense clearly on the field a lot.

Arkansas - 299 yards (141 yards to Alex Collins)

Our offense relative to that game:
Only scored 14 points and gained 330 yards (threw 35 times as a result of being down 24-14 in 4th quarter), Arkansas gave up 391.6 ypg over the course of the season.

Ole Miss: Gave up 152 yards on the ground, but 280 yards in the air.

Offense relative to that game:
502 yards of offense, had 2 turnovers. Again, like the Arkansas game, trying to pass because we were behind, but Harris had not been trusted to pass this aggressively much before, and it's not a wonder that he was not successful. He was able to move the ball, but lack of refinement caused turnovers.

The defense will have bad games, and just because they're a top 10 defense 10/12 games, and then have a few games of trouble, doesn't mean we should blame that unit. The LSU offense had 11/12 games of an average offense at best.

LSU's offense was 4th(sec) in offensive yards per game.
Lsu defense was 5th(sec) in opponents yards per game.

Lsu offense was 3rd(sec) in offensive points per game.
Lsu defense was 9th(sec) in opponents points per game.

TEXAS A&M WAS RANKED AHEAD OF LSU IN OPPONENTS POINTS PER GAME

LSU gave up at least 20 points to evey mid major we played.
Lsu gave up over 20 points to a 5th string walk on at syracuse.

Our defense was 80th in opponents pass completions per game and 57th in opponents passing yards per game.

TEXAS A&M WAS RANKED AHEAD OF LSU IN SEVERAL DEFENSIVE CATEGORIES.

Let that sink in.

Why would I get excited over the analysis of a guy who is as dumb as a box of rocks?

We've had NFL caliber pro bowl players before at the offensive skill positions (Beckham, Juice, Hill, and Mett) and didn't sniff the Nat Championship.

And don't give me the old "we have a defense this year" bit. Save it. Aranda's D hasn't taken a snap yet, so you don't know what we have there. I'm setting myself up emotionally for a solid 10-2 year, such that I won't be disappointed when we are held once again to under 200 yards of offense in the games that count.

getting totally gassed in the 4th quarter. Thats been the recurring theme for the last few years.

Not good enough depth outside of dbs. In chavis last game nds opening drive was like 8 minutes. That isn't on the offense. Chavis had his own struggles getting the d off the field early in games.

Its telling that you think our problem in 2013 was offense.

We scored 41 in a loss to georgia and gave 495 yards offense.

We gave up 525 yards of offense against ole miss

We gave up 193 yards rushing to bama.
