Are there any former/current LSU athletes that have officially won a gold medal at the olympics?

Thanks

Glen "Slats" Hardin - 1936 (Berlin) - Gold Medal - 400m hurdles. (Slats won the silver in 1932 - in world record time, 52 seconds flat, because the Gold winner knocked down a hurdle, which, at the time, eliminated his time from WR consideration).

Dick Davies - 1964 (Tokyo) - Gold Medal - Basketball

Sheila Echols - 1988 (Seoul) - Gold Medal - 4x100m relay

Ben McDonald - 1988 (Seoul) - Gold Medal - Baseball

Kevin Jackson - 1992 (Barcelona) - Gold Medal - Wrestling (82kg) (3 time All American at LSU, we dropped the sport, he finished at Iowa State and now he coaches there - thanks Title IX)

Esther Jones - 1992 (Barcelona) - Gold Medal - 4x100m relay

Shaquille O'Neal - 1996 (Atlanta) - Gold Medal - Basketball

Kurt Ainsworth - 2000 (Sydney) - Gold Medal - Baseball

Derrick Brew and Kelly Willie - 2004 (Athens) - Gold Medal - 4x400m relay

Seimone Augustus and Sylvia Fowels - 2008 (Beijing) - Gold Medal - Basketball (Thanks to oilfieldtiger for helping with these 2)

(ETA: I have seen the count at 12 Gold Medalists, and this accounts for 12 - I cannot confirm this number.)

Fyi - Duncan ran a very good 22.3 and thought she was going to sneak in but jeter caught her. Hope she comes back, but I doubt it.

Yeah, That won't happen anytime soon with Bolt and co. turning in those times. In fact, he got beat by a younger dude the world champion. Dude ran a 9.75. Sydney 2000 Seems so long ago...

What does USA usually winning gold medals in this event have to do with Richard Thompson's Silvers?

Good point, but didn't he lose to Jamaicans?

(ETA and USA took Bronze in both events...)
