Woods had a monster sack that put the titans in a good position to win the game.

You use the word 'shined' rather loosely it seems. They have had their days before excluding Shepherd who I would love to see succeed due to his college career that was pretty much wasted imo.

He had 4 years to succeed as a WR/RB. He was way too inconsistent at WR. He was ok, but nothing special. Still can't understand why LSU fans were so blown away by him coming out of high school.

He was an athlete who couldn't play QB in a pro style system and had never played WR.

exactly! if you're able to reel in the best dual-threat qb in the country you tailor your offense to suit him and you don't try make that guy a wr which he's never played.

Only Leslie...

Except he ended up being a 1 threat, not dual threat

When he got here, we were running a good bit of spread shotgun plays. He excelled as a RB and should have remained there

What was annoying was that he was our most productive offensive player in a few games, and then was benched for the rest of the game as a freshman.

MSU and UGA comes to mind

My man should have gone to Oregon to play QB in that system. Guy just wasn't a wide receiver. Ultimately though, he's got a job in the league and he wouldn't have been playing QB in the NFL regardless of where he played college ball.

I do wonder if he could have made it at RB. He reminds me of Denard Robinson who made the transition from college QB to WR to NFL runningback. Shep had some success when he was used at RB his freshman season, then they totally abandoned using him like that.

We've had several players that played qb in hs and had no problem playing another position at LSU.

Seems to me Shep made the rt move. He's in the NFL as a wr, if he played qb somewhere he wouldn't be in the NFL.

He just never seemed physical enough. When he got into any traffic, the play was dead. He wasn't going to go untouched on all his run plays.

Ruben randle had better passing stats in hs. Same class. No one bitched he wasn't throwing the ball.

If he did play RB, he would have had to be a D'Anthony Thomas type back. Lot of option, end around, jet sweep, wildcat, misdirection stuff. He still needed to learn how to catch the ball though. I think he would have been better as a scat back who caught passes and got the ball in space.

It seems like each week more and more tigers are making plays. HS recruits have to be taking note where the true pipeline is to the NFL..
