What gives with the Tigers not being able to use their own locker room yesterday?
The announcer said something about the NCAA rule not allowing the home team to use their own locker room if they are the “visiting” team for that game. He said that they used the football locker room “across the street.”
If this is so, then why not use the “visiting” team locker room at the Box?
Can anyone clarify this?
Thanks.

Is there a visiting locker room? Everytime I see the visiting team arrive on the bus they are in uniform off the bus.

To not give the host team an "advantage".

We never clean the visitor's locker room. Toilets are nasty, no toilet paper etc.. So when our turn we go to the football locker room. It's pristine with massage tables etc..

Just my opinion but I think that rule is crap. I understand that rule in a tour. where all should be equal but if I am not mistaken LSU earned the right to host the tournament, so a small advantage like that is warranted.

I believe that rule was forgotten when they designed this stadium. That rule has always been there and they had to do the same thing over at old Box, the only thing was they had to let the other team use their home locker room and they used the visiting teams. I believe they need to add another locker room because of this rule if they want to continue to host regionals. That way they will not have to use the football locker room over at LSU Stadium. A team can not have a locker room advantage over another team in a regional. LSU did not want the other team in their home locker room so they let the visiting teams have the visiting team locker room and they went to the football locker room. The other altrnative is to replinish the old home locker room at the old box and use that one until they can add another team locker room. It will get used that is for sure. The umpires could use it during the regular season insted of having to dress in their Hotel rooms they could use that dressing room to change in.

Exactly what advantage would they have by using their own locker room? Is the football locker room that big of a disadvantage? I highly doubt it

They have a vistor locker room at the Box. If you want to call it a locker room. It is a 20'x 20' concrete room with metal folding chairs. With a restroom across from it.

South Carolina's new ballpark does not have visiting locker room either. Ray Tanner said visitors never use them anyway, so no point in adding one.
